Thanks a lot guys!!!
Andy... Dankie tjopa! Can't wait to have some fun runs with you guys again like I always did in the past!
Some small updates...
Received a new Auto Polar FIS cable via DHL from Spain. Seems the problem is traced to my Auto Polar FIS box itself. The cable must have shorted it out... Soon as FIS is plugged in, the infotainment errors pop up on VCDS and the bluetooth as well as steering wheel audio controls don't function. Disconnect the FIS and everything works. So I'll be buying a new Auto Polar FIS+ Advanced soon.
I have in the meantime been replacing small bits and parts that also needed further attention to get my car back to it's showroom glory days.
The one windscreen washer nozzle would hang loose on the passenger side when opening bonnet. Think clip got damaged in assembly process. Fitted a new one here.
The bonnet/hood's under liner was sagging. After almost 4 years of engine heat, this is quite normal. Fitted a new OEM one too.
The driver's footwell light kept popping out of it's holder occassionally too. Inspection showed a broken clip. I bought a new OEM part here too and was an easy DIY.
I also found that the charcoal canister's bracket in the engine bay had broken clips which I replaced as well.
Also managed to finally source my rare earth magnets from TGD.
For my DIY number plate project...
6 magnets have been siliconed to the back of my number plate.
Followed by glueing a soft felt material over the magnets and the rear of the plate.
Tiger Wheel and Tyre contacted me to collect the OEM replacement fenders that they had initially damaged on their alignment machine. They are now at my local bodyshop. Car will need to go in as they want to roll the fenders on the car before painting and they are just too full to take my car in now. The other 6 magnets will be fitted to the back of my R bumper there as the bumper must come off to replace the fenders.
And I also gave the R a good valet again. I really have no issues with the paintwork. I can see with her standing so long at the bodyshop and collecting dust, that she will need a good paint correction again. But I will perform it once the new fenders have been fitted. But I am happy to say the car is almost back in the condition she always was.
