Had to do the brakes on the ///M so had the discs drilled and slotted and painted the calipers as they where stained

Next in line was to try to get the radio/ cd changer to play more than just the normal cds. I couldve opted for a replacement head unit but that would just spoil the originality of the M5, i opted for the GROM USB which replaces your CD changer in the boot to the following( see pic) and is controlled from your existing standard head unit.

Thanks to all....

The GROM unit is okay, it does the job well apart from navigating through the USB files, since its being used as a 6 disc shuttle and cannot select exactly what you want to listen to, but for now its fine as I don't want to change the head unit..... any other ideas ?

there is an uncle we used for machining and custom parts, I know him as oom phiri.... in Germiston

Been a while since ive updated this thread......

M5 has been sold a couple of months ago, one of the best cars to own IMHO.

Bought an E46 M3, 2005 Manual , 159000km enjoy the pics

What's it feel like going from the E39 M5 to the E46. I'd be hard pressed to choose between them, as they are both epic cars.

\Honestly , one cannot compare the 2 cars, if you do then the M3 is very disappointing compared to the M5 , M5 is in its own class, one of BMW's Finest examples ..... Power , comfort, handling etc.

If you haven't owned a M5 before purchasing a M3 then the M3 is impressive in its own class.
Unfortunately I have had a M5 before so the M3 is mediocre at most.
