Where is your front numberplate placed now since you removed it from the centre of the bumper? Looks sweet

Right now I have no plate anywhere Lol. I always use the car locally but on long trips I guess I have to put the number plate holder back. Which is a bit of a pain, However I am thinking of using Velcro.. Will let you know...

It's been a while since I've posted. I wish I tracked everything I did on my car thus far. However I never got around with doing that.

I have my car for a full year now. It is certainly not the fastest or prettiest, But boy do I love driving this car.

Due to me not using this car as a daily, I mostly take it out on occasional weekends. This weekend I decided to give it a bang. So on Saturday I went through to the car wash and cleaned her up. :tiptoe:

I am convinced that my car is smoking slightly and burning a little oil. So the car will be booked in very soon, As I prefer to repair something rather than leave it to get worst. Hence updates were slower than anticipated. I am assuming that it is more the top end of the motor, Not rings or bearings. So head, valve gover gasket, Vanos seals etc. However i will confirm once done.

The other two issues I am having are slight problems. One is the bonnet cable has snapped. Literally inches away from the leaver. I am currently awaiting for a new bonnet cable. The second issue is my Windscreen Washer Bottle is leaking. So I'm gonna open her up this weekend to see where the problem lies.

But to conclude. This car is great and I fall in love with it every time I take it for a drive. The exhaust note due to the Decat and exhaust makes me smile when pressing the throttle. I am not a very heavy driver though.

Everytime I wanted to post pictures my images were always too big. However I've finally got fed up and installed "Reduce Phote Size" on my phone. So please see pictures below. :=): These were taken out yesterday.

If all goes well my thread will be updated more frequently going forward.

As you can see, I have decided to put the Impact Strip back on :smilebounce:

Hi guys.

Like said in previous posts. I was hoping to update this Thread with some modifications\upgrades. So i finally decided to bite the bullet.

My car was up for sale a few months back but due to time wasters I decided to invest into my car by making it to my liking and preping in keeping it.

I know some of you guys may disagree with what I did or wonder how will I manage to maintain this properly. However, if there is one thing that bothers me in any car is... Big wheel gap. With anything said, I prefer leaving things OEM or moding with OEM parts.

So I have opted for Coilovers (Which i got at a steal). I had mixed emotions regarding this in the beginning. I intially wanted to go for either H&R or Eibach lowered springs. I was aware that with the car having stock suspension it was already a bit low. Especially with an Mtech2.

There is two reasons I choose Coilovers

- I can adjust the ride height
- Lowered springs would still have the Rears sitting lower than the front and I didn't want that. I prefer is slightly lower in the front, I personally feel it looks more balanced.

I will be driving the car like this to see how it goes for a few days but I intend on raising it for my usual commute and occasionally lowering it for events, etc.

Moving onto the ride I'm currently experiencing. I was told and felt what a hard ride you can get from certain coilovers but i am extremely happy with the outcome. With lowering the coils I am getting better ride quality than with the stock shock and spring. Although when i stripped the suspension i did notice that it still had original BMW shocks and springs so I am assuming that the previous owner never ever changed it before, making it 14 years old, So I am certain that if i had to replace my suspension with original shocks and springs it would have been better than the coilovers.

One issue i experienced was that the front right sat lower than the left when I matched the level of drop I wanted. So to balance it I had to lower the left more than the right. I was told it is the case with BMW's.

But enough of this... Please see pictures below. (I do not intend on going lower than this at any given circumstance).

Beautiful e46! Looks great with the more low... I agree, add a spacer to the rear wheels to get them looking a little more flush.

Looks great.

Is this pitstop carwash?

I actually never noticed the name. Lol

It is behind the Makro/Hirschs on Hendrick Potgieter in the West Rand. Directly opposite Clearwater mall. Not sure if that is the name. Very nice car wash though.

She looks good, a bit low for a daily driver so don't drive anywhere near speedbumps. You will learn new techniques on avoiding inclines, driveways and other various road obstacles that weren't a problem before.

How did you get past the front camber issue? Adjustable top hats?

Thankfully my car isn't in daily use at the moment. Regarding the front. I didn't have any camber issue, No adjustable top hats used. What issue did you experience?
