Thanks for the great story, and welcome to the Fanatics family. Gotta love the e30 for the fantastic cars they were, and still are. :bravo:

Thanks guys.

I've been contemplating putting up some pictures of the suspension and brake package, with a complete spec list.

Think I'll get on it now, as well as body work... of course the engine build. Which I'm happy to say I can collect the crank tomorrow. So now really only waiting on the block...

Here is a quick update as to what I got up to this past weekend with the car.

I made up some new bushes for my shifter, well I installed needle bearings into the shifter rather than the usual brass or nylon. This should hopefully negate most wear, as well as remove all slop.

I have also modified a pre facelift shifter carrier so that it mounts directly to the chassis, it must be noted solid engine and gearbox mounts are needed for this mod.

Here it is mounted to the chassis, and the compete setup with my home made shift boot, and custom made ally grip type shift knob.

I also started sticker bombing my steering wheel... not sure I'm entirely happy with it. Seems a bit tatty.

I also ran new in cabin brake lines, not many will agree with this, but no one is going to sit in the rear, and I am going to be installing a cover over them, the current carpet is also going to be removed as it doesn't fit correctly anymore due to me removing the sound insulation from under it. It will be replaced though with some sort of insulation and light weight carpet.

Here is an old picture to show the bootlid and the pulled rear fenders. I haven't smoothed out the rear fenders as of yet, but I will before I re paint the car again.

Here is the bonnet, it's the old oen from the race car. I will be painting all the venting on it to try mask it a little. Seeing that it's a road car and all.

LOL! Some humour for this wednesday too... check my biceps boet! Sorry it was the only pic I had of the bonnet. :roflol::biglol::biglol::thumbdo:

I got some work done on the car this weekend as I'm still waiting for my block to be bored out. Guess that is what happens when you work with family, and then I still need to send it in for some o-ringing.

So after much deliberation I went and torn down the back end of the car, everything out! I have always had a spare camber/toe adjustable subframe which I planned on keeping as spare for the race car but I went ahead and just installed it into this car, I also transferred the 12mm shorter solid mounts and ally diff cover mount across.

I hate that I don't have a garage to work in. Rolling around in the dirt is a :yuck:

So far I have gotten the subframe and diff back into the car, I'm holding off on the trailing arms as I just want to get new eccentric washers cut from harder material as the ones from the race car are already showing signs of wear. I need to sort out the CV boots on side shafts as the keep popping off and spewing grease all over the show.
