Glad you got it sorted. :bravo:
I had some work done by Oom Sarel some years back on my Isuzu alternator. He does a good job, never had an issue.

It's done!! My appointment is for tommorow at 08:00 at Leo Haese.
I know almost everyone there, and they know me, so they know not to mess with me. :)

Don't worry Colin, I will be with my car the entire time. :thumb: SCREW the rule of no clients in the workshop.
My car don't have motorplan anymore, so anything they break I have to fix, thus I will be making sure the ONLY work done is to drain the oil, fit the new oilfilter, and fill it up with oil again. :)

Cois I am glad you get good service from LH, then again you have a gun and a badge, so that pretty much guarantees good service......:mmm:
When you check up on the work just make sure that they change the two small o-rings on the oil filter housing as well, as they are no longer included in the BMW oil service kit for the 6 cylinder e46's for some reason  The big one is still included though.

Thats true Sank, I have badge and gun, but I also know how to flirt with the ladies, and sometimes the guys too :mmm:
Any case... I will ask about the little orings  have NO clue where they go, so hopefully the mechanic will know.

The oil filter slides of the the cover and under the part that the filter goes over there is narrower bit the o-rings go there. Yup hopefully the mechanic knows this :)

Either way if they have in stock of these o-rings could you pick up a bunch for me and I will transfer you the money? I would really appreciate it, cause both of the dealers I have gone to (LH and menlyn auto) both had no stock and not the type of no stock that it will order and it will be here tomorrow, the kind of out of stock that they have to order and it takes four weeks WTF  how can you have no stock of a service item?

Coisman my car is due for a oil service in about 2000km can I borrow your gun and badge. Or I could always hire you. I'll PM you closer to the time for contact names of who I could speak to there. BM Menlyn wants R2400 for a oil service FTW. Are they drilling for the oil themselves.

Henry, did you actually go into the dealership and have them scan your key to see what exactly needs to be done??

Hi guys,
so here is what happened this morning at Leo Haese Hatfield...

Show up at 07:30, security tells me to make sure I remove EVERYTHING from my car, including the R3.75 of copper in the rear ashtray. I tune him infront of everyone: " Listen! This is a profesional institution, so if ANYONE takes ANYTHING from my car, I will firstly BLIKSEM the guy who's name is on my jobcard, then I will BLIKSEM the guy that drove my car into the workshop, then I will BLIKSEM the guy that drove my car out of the workshop, and if ANYONE interfears, I will BLIKSEM them too!! Are we clear!!???!!" :fishwack:

Needless to say the poor "laaitie" that had to take my car in was shaking so bad he stalled my car when he pulled off to take her into the workshop. :nonono:

So I get the service consultant, and he looks at my service booking and tells me: " Ok, so I see that the car is here to be serviced. You are aware that it normally takes 3 hours for an oil service?" :flyfun:

I look at him and say: "How long??? Are you mad?? Don't you see the little letters at the top that states "F1 service"??? Or do you send the car out to another dealership to get serviced because you are a bunch of idiots??"

He looks ut me in duscust and says: "Well sir, that is the time it takes." So I tell him he is one of those idiots I was refering too, and he should just give the workshop my jobcard so they can begin work on my car. I also make it VERY CLEAR to him that they ONLY need to replace the oil, oil filter, and sump plug washer. The oil filter kit, has all the parts in it, so there shouldn't be a problem, he agrees and off he goes, while I go and get some coffee...

Now after about 15 minutes I spot the lady I normally deal with, Charlene, and ask her to PLEASE go and find out if they are only doing what I asked to be done, and NOT what the idiot told them to do. She comes back with the mechanic, and says: "Ok dear, your car is done, and you need to pay R2231... :argh:

So after I take my hand off my gun, I ask her as politely and as calm as I can: "Can you please explain to me what was done???" She starts by telling me they changed drained the oil, fitted the new washer and put back the sumpplug, installed the new oilfilter and o-ring, put in new oil, replaced the cabin filter, and they saw I have K&N airfilter, so left that in. All the parts plus R1000 labour comes to R2231... :bangdesk:

So I once again "gooi" a "vloermoer" and ask her to PLEASE remember our conversasion on thursday morning, where I told her EVERYTHING that I want done, and she quoted me R960 for parts + labour, and now, they go and do EXACTLY what I told them not to do, plus how the HELL can they ask me R1000 labour for a 1/2 hours work??? :nono: I am ONLY willing to pay for the oil filter kit, and the oil, and the 1/2 hour labour, thats it!!!

She then tells me they will remove the cabin filter, thats R543, but I still need to pay the R121 for the washer for the sumpplug. Now seriously, if its included in the oil filter kit, WHY do I need to pay an extra R121 for it??? So finally she takes my invoice upstairs, comes back, and here is the end resault...

A grand total of R859.99... so all good...
Now my car is serviced at the dealers, its stamped and on their computers, and my service indicator states 25k km to next service
