My other car is a regular looking white X5 wiff sport pack. The E39 however is my favourite.
She looks fantastic, just got mine , silver 2002 model 530d , hope to detail her soon as well, just something to look out for, change all the small vac tubes they get quite hard from the heat and age, not the kilometrage, I also took out the egr and ordered a blank egr valve casing from (hold yor breath!) Land Rover, the TD5 uses the same Egr valve, and they replace it with the blank usually only after the EGR valve gives problems.
One problem it can give and brake the motor is that the water can leak through the EGR and into the intake manifold, with bent conrods the result, I also took the intake manifold off and removed the swirl flaps and closed the small holes with self tappers, mail me if you need more info.

Hi, very nice car you got there. I have a question about your wheels. Are those 9x17 rims on the rear and 8x17 on the front axle? What tyre dimensions do you have? It looks to me as you have 235/45 R17 all around. Is this correct?

In the attached picture you can see my everyday car. Its a 530d with a complete M-Technik Sportpaket and Styling 32 wheels in 8x17 235/45 and 9x17 265/40 in the rear.

I am asking the question because I am considering puttin 235/45 tires all round.

Thanks for resurrecting an 8 year old thread, never would have seen these pics. I doubt the OP still owns this car though.

Wow - this brings back memories of my ex. Sadly, I can't recall the specs of wheels/tyres I had on these.

I cannot post pictures. All I get is an error message "Image file is missing" after upload of images. Does anybody know what seems to be the problem?

That didi it although I do not understand it. The original file is 2.48 MB. Maximum size for attached pictures is stated as 5 MB. Whatever.

Anyway I am proud to present my 530dA to you guys. It is my everyday car with 338.000 km on it.

It is no problem to send a car from Germany to South Africa by ship. The cost would be around 700,- US $ plus local customs fees and clearing.

The problem is the "local" part of it.

I will stay with the 265/40 R17 option for the rear axle. This combination is the maximum you can have on the 9x17 ET26 rims. The rolling circumference is exactly the same as 235/45 R17. I never liked stretched tires so I doubt 235/45 R17 on 9x17 is a real alternative for my rear axle.
