Thanks for all the kind words gents... Been almost 2 months since I first picked the car up and have been thoroughly enjoying the experience. This car really packs a punch, stock, I can only imagine with mods... :blowheart:

My aim here is to get the basics right before I do any additional performance mods, as I know these engines can be rather temperamental, at the best of times.. That being said, there are some personal touches I would like to add to individualise the car..

The first 'unplanned' mod I did when I got the car was change the wheels from Style 193's to Style 127's. The style 127's weren't my first choice for the car, as I prefer a period correct look. The CSL design suits the shape of the E46 far better, in my opinion. The E90 with 18" wheels didn't clear the driveway, so I had to put the 19" wheels on. I have since reverted the E46 back to stock Style 44's, surprisingly, the E46 with 17" wheels doesn't have an issue with the driveway, go figure... :hammerhead:

Both the E46 and E90 together, after the wheel change:

The aim is to look for a set of Style 359 (M3 competition pack) wheels, which I believe to be one of the best looking 'stock' design wheels for the E90 Motorsport.

I also had a trip to Jhb planned for the SA Festival of Motoring and prior to the trip being done, had the car booked in for it's brake fluid flush. I didn't take any pictures for some weird reason, except a mileage 'milestone' on the way up to Jhb. I was really impressed with the fuel consumption, given the spirited driving and everything I'd heard about the N54 being a thirsty motor.

Whilst I was in Jhb, I had sourced a set of red RPI ram scoops from a fellow fanatic and fetched these, with the intention to fit them when I got back home. The fuel consumption on the way back was higher than the trip up :fencelook: Overall I was very impressed, as the car didn't skip a beat on the entire journey. Got back home and was ready to fit the ram scoops, have to say that it looks far more noticeable in person:

The car was booked in for an oil service at SMG Umhlanga, just in time to take advantage of the special before it ended...

Congrats on the car. Mine too still makes me smile. Theses cars are actually lighter than you would think on the open road especially giving it stick at times. I got the same consumption on my last trip. Car is looking good:thumbs:

Time for another update... Something I have always liked is the black and white roundels on a white car and I wanted to continue this theme from the 330i to the 335i. All of the roundels (7 of them) were changed to black and white, I have to say that this 'mod' for me really helps set the car apart from others, in a subtle, tasteful way.

The fact that I had the incorrect wheels on the car always irked me and I was hunting for a set of Style 359's in earnest. It just so happens that a certain Space Grey e90 320d Motorsport was sold with its original Style 193's. With me being the forum addict that I am, I had my eye on the set that was for sale.. Amazing I was second in line (long story), but just so happens that luck was on my side and I had managed to arrange for them.

Made arrangements with Fasst to have these packaged for shipment and Firi to sort out the courier on my behalf.. The wheels were really packaged well, so well, I was able to reuse them for my Style 127's, which will be up for sale soon.

At the same time I had wanted to get carbon grills, but no one had stock.. I had decided that I would opt for gloss black grills and managed to get hold of a set from DieselFan, that was in need of refurbishment. Arranged with a fellow fanatic to get this done along with an item he needed to have sprayed as well, we were both very impressed with the outcome.. I know this next mod won't be to everyone's taste, especially with every Tom, Dick and Harry doing this to their cars... I didn't do the same mod on the 330i because it was not a fully fledged motorsport package, this car on the other hand deserves to wear its stripes...

I need to take some better pictures of the car but managed to snap these two pictures outside work, one morning... Priorities, I know.. :fencelook:

You know, just as I have made the decision “get an E90 330d” a 335i pops up and I am back to square one. I have yet to experience an N54, but if the N55 is so nice to drive then surely the N54 is just as amazing (if not more).
