What an ordeal you had to go through.

I’m glad your car is up and running and healthy as ever, Sash.

Now onto the next 200k km :cartel:

Hi Sash, cannot remember if you mentioned in your posts ever changing the oil separator/filter on your car? I do know that two of the three E60 530d's i have had only one had a separator in and the other two had nothing in! My actions nowadays is to remove said separator or filter and have nothing in the housing.

I purchased a new one from BMW when i was doing the intercooler replacement, but think i might need to clean it out now.

I feel she is running stronger, especially on top. Lower revs, drives just like she used to. On my file before the turbo went she ran great, felt another kick in the higher rev range. With the tweaked file, boost is not any higher AFAIK, but turbo can handle more. Power delivery is much smoother and less smoke.

There's more to be had, but I first needed to make sure everything was working, then didn't want to be running on old file for too long. The only hard drives i did was testing to make sure boost pipes held up and sensors stayed in place :smilebounce:

Will tweak again once MPH has their AFR meter, we were just using immediate AFR's and checking how the turbo behaves. Not to mention the weather literally rained on our parade, so there wasn't much of a road to do proper logging.

My car has been standing basically since September looking very sorry for itself in the garage covered in dust. I just dont have the moola to repair the water leak which I think is the pump itself.... not working so no income!!

Glad to see that Gabby is back Sash, I even felt it bad seeing that pic of her bleeding oil and knowing fully well how much you care for that car and the ordeal...

Well like you said, you moving on so cheers to the next 200k km on her, she still looks like she has less than 70000km on her!

Well done bro!

Beautiful car, glad it's sorted out and back on the road.
Quite inspirational how the fanatics came together to assist.

Very well done and the reason why I love being apart of the car community

I personally felt like I had neglected the car in recent times and the combination of passing the 200k km milestone and surviving the turbo incident warranted some pampering. I had always wanted my car to be professionally detailed. I have most of the tools, maybe not all the skill to do this but definitely was not comfortable with Ceramic coating. After careful deliberation i decided to source out this detail to Sbo at Detail Logic in Roodepoort. He has done a few friends cars and everyone was more than happy with the outcome.

I delivered the car on a Sunday and eagerly awaited progress pics. While the car was not as bad, there was definitely lots of room for improvement. These are some that I received.

Wow the difference in the Wheel Arch is amazing :praise: , even though you don't see it due to the wheel, it's good to know that it is as clean as it is now

Actually makes a big difference to the overall car, dirty arches can bring down an otherwise clean car... Especially in the sun.
