///My 328i :D :D - with pics, finally!

Hi guys,

i thought its about time i show off my Christmas prezzie. i picked her up on friday morning. '96 328i Auto. :rollsmile:

its been 3 years since i owned a 328i, since then i had an e46 320i, polo vivo 1.4 (what was i thinking :facepalm: ) and e90 320i, so you can imagine my delight when she pulled from 3k rpm to redline.

now shes not in too great shape, i took this on as a little restoration project. the reason i took the car was because the motor is CLEAN, no funny noises/leaks, gbox is smooth, no rust whatsoever. besides the boot spoiler and the ///M badge on the kidney, everything else on the car is stock. Firstly, the viscous fan needs to go asap, not only for the power and fuel consumption but that sound its driving me frikken insane, im not a pilot!

she also needs shocks (probably springs too), control arms (actually bushes and ball joints, but im not into pressing), tie rod ends, comfort relay, complete new/refurb interior, decat and full respray. and shes getting fitted with BMW style 193's :D those are the main things for now, the other stuff is small bits and pieces.

im thinking instead of replacing the shocks and springs, why not get Vmaxx coilovers. i saw an ad that said the from R4k... anyone with experience with Vmaxx?

sorry there's no pics for now guys, im at work and photobucket is blocked :(
before someone else does it let me do it for you..... :ttiuwp:

will post pics later today.

finally some pics, i was giving the engine a wash ... thing was filthy .. didnt have my camera on me so i just took a few snaps with my phone, sorry about that.

awesome project :)

Vmaxx are the same as all the other cheap Ebay coilovers not very good for handling, but if you just want it to look good they ok :(

If you want to go the Vmaxx route then you can get them even cheaper of Ebay :)

thanks guys for the replies, ill be updating this thread with the progress.. as for the pics i was night shift so i was sleeping, ill post pics as soon as i get a chance.

good choice the cheapest decent coilovers ive found are the BC racing and they go for about 8k... price the shock and spring combo and decide from there :)

thats the thing springs and shocks are now costing about the same as coilovers so it kind of makes sense to upgrade :)

well i need to think about which coilovers to put. which ones are you refering to doom? id love to get some feedback if you get them. for now i decided to put gabriel gas riders for R1500 then later in the year when i change the springs ill see whats on the market for coils.
