Pics are looking good man, congrats again!!

Some tips maybe:

  • Take the towbar off
  • Rims - I see you set on 193's
  • Motorsport back bumper if you can find it

Do that once you've made her mechanically and cosmetically 110%
Have fun!!

Congrats on the present
Getting new OEM springs + shocks at today's prices is coilover territory.I think Twinz or Revo supply KW coilovers with sub R10k starting prices.

Hey guys thanks for all the compliments. At the moment I'm just bringing the car back to spec, replacing whatevers worn or broken. @jeff, I'm looking for a ms bumper I hate that aftermarket diffuser crap, I also looking for the MS beadings.the towbar and boot spoiler is going. I'm at the shop now n just put the car on the ramp, I need new control arms too, and wanted to take out the o2 sensor to test and guess wat ITS NOT FRIKKEN THERE!!! And I was wondering why my consumption is 21L/100km. So I need an o2 sensor aswell, once mechanical is all done she's going for respray.

Later this year ill put the coilovers, and the supercharge! Without the boost leaks thanks

@sclass, thanks bud. I'm fitting gabriel shocks for now until I can get the coilies, at a similar price to oe I think it wud be worth it

stage 1 complete

i fitted the shocks and done alignment... the wheels were pointing in all different directions!! the alignment dude was very helpful and was quite knowledgeable, thumbs up to Speedy Bluff.

the car feels totallt different, im enjoying this car so much and that viscous removal makes a HUGE difference. the control arms are not as bad as i thought they were, i can hardly feel the worn bush, but ill change them anyway.

next up new control arms and o2 sensor... then prep for paint

did you replace the fan with an electric one or just take it off?

I removed it and using the aux fan. ill get a backup fan next time im at the spares shop. but the aux fan is working pretty well and is hardly noticable (the sound)

it will be better to get an extra fan you dont want to take a chance :( freerider has a writeup about fitting one if you have not seen it :)

yeah it would be better as a precaution, i dont wanna be in a situation where the aux fan fails and i dont have a failsafe.. i think i seen that write-up a while ago.. ill search it n go through. but im thinking ill use the new fan running constantly on a separate circuit and the aux fan as it normally functions because the aircon also controls the aux fan and i dont really want to interfere with that circuit.

Very nice indeed!

What is the long term plan for the car? I'm hoping track car :fencelook:

i hope one day to turn it into a full on track car but that will be years from now :( also the [legal] racing scene isnt so grand down here in Durban.

for now just a street car for our private test track

you dont want it running all the time if i remember right FR wired it so it would go on with temp so there is no need to have it running and making your alternator work hard all the time :)

depends on the current the fan pulls, it would be easier to let it run one way. but if the current is too large then a temp switch is needed. however, at operating temp the fan needs to be running anyway so y not just leave it on... im going in circles.. ill just see when i get the fan
