My 1996 540i - Now with new interior and various clean-up's.

I will take proper pics over the weekend. The transformation is extreme to put it mildly. Yeah Hellas, i had to call on Richard to help me, seeing that he has done this a few times before. Good thing too. He managed to fix the electrics on the passenger seat.

Noticed when you drove off, your's sounds like a real V8, mine sounds somwhere between a 6 and a V8. Your 540 does have a nice beat, even with the stock exhaust.

Damn, here we go with that exhaust again, I think I''l try an X pipe instead of the front silencers now.:mmm:

So far the gearbox is still nice and quiet. It has done just over 200km since the service, and I am very happy.

I will clean the car, and take some decent pics in the sunlight, just to get a good idea of how good this interior now looks.

So lately the 5er was pissing oil from the newly serviced gearbox. So this morning Triangle Transmissions found an oil seal on a selector rod to be faulty, which was replaced by them, free of charge.

I still have an oil leak on the power steering, but will sort that out in due time.

The new foglight is being fitted over the weekend, and I just serviced the CD shuttle, so now that is also working nicely.

All in all things are moving along. Very slowly, but surely.

Did some cleaning up around the bootlid area this weekend.

Not 100% perfect. The medium rubbing compound was just a tad too soft to properly clean up a bit of junk on the left hand side.

So next on the agenda is to remove the back window, and clean up those few spots of rust.
