Multi function steering buttons

It almost seems as if the "paint" or plastic coating on the button surrounds is starting to come off. I am just being pedantic, but it is annoying me.

New ones will the plenty $$$$ and the ones at the scrapyards all seem to do the same thing. I thought of removing them, masking the buttons and spraying them?

Guess I should just leave them?

you can either paint or vinyl the trim, very easy to do.

and you dont even have to mask, as the buttons detach from the trim

Thanks for the advice. I will take the airbag off shortly and then just unbolt them.

Yup almost every car of ours has had this problem, the coating starts peeling after a few years and it just looks bad:cursin:
Just about everywhere the coating starts to peel sooner or later.
