Modified e46 cluster

My first post here!

Got my e46 320i last year and so far loving it!

Its a little rough around the edges but i have have big plans for it, including a 2.8 swap and turbo build eventually!

But for now this was my first mod.

I hated the original cluster look with the orange glow so I did some research and decided to change the backlight LEDs.

This is the result!

Looks brilliant.. Maybe do the mileage section in an ice white to give it some contrast?

I'm still thinking of an idea for there. The LCD has a orange tinted film that needs to be peeled off in order to change the colour effectively. However, it would need to be replaced with the same colour of whatever i want to make it in order to diffuse the light evenly.

Ive still got a bunch of the LEDs left over, if anybody wants it done. Have white, deep blue like mine above, a lighter ice blue and red. I can also order more of practically whatever colour your heart desires.

this is the cluster opened up

this is one of the LEDs which get soldered on

I think I’ll buy myself another cluster and do this.

Keep my original Ofcourse (for later when I do want to sell)

Clusters are about a grand second hand.

Would you be willing to go this for forumite (even if at a small fee?)

Yea I can definitely do it  , will need to charge just a little to cover costs of the LEDs.

I havent done all of mine yet cause i plan on changing my radio still for a double din but this can be done to everything thats illuminated in the cabin. All your AC buttons, radio everything can be colour matched.

Nice colour, but the amber is a BMW trademark, and if you change the cluster, you need to change everything amber, right down to the ambient lighting, and to the radio, aircon, etc, alles.

IF you do all of that, then that would be something spectaular

interior lights already all swapped out for a whitish blue with a deep blue at the driver and passenger feet.
As stated, will be doing all the other bits on AC when i get around to swapping the stock radio for a double din :=):

How many led's did the cluster take ( so far )

15 if i remember, which excludes all the warning light colours (can change any of those to the desired colour too)
