No-one is dishing anything......the point it is a forum people will give feedback and comments, some positive some negative - this is the way of the forum, if you don't like it then you don't post as simple as that. The idea of just removing that are not against the rules, but only because you don't like it is childish and pretentious.

Always found these cars to be somewhat arb to me!
Looks like a VERY cool project and one that will certainly be unique! Look forward to hearing more about this lil car!
I must say, I love the staggered dish rims that some of these came with, made the car look super aggressive. Like the Jack Russel from The Mask when he got some Beeeeh Tooofs when he put the Mask on! Just like that.

Hopefully you can give it some teeth too, along the way!

Alright, so Smart is dropped off for a major service.

He is overboosting (0.8 Bar) and often goes into safe mode, the Smart mechanic (lol) is going to sort out a couple of issues which include:

- Adjusting boost to 0.6 max
- 6 Spark Plugs
- New filters all round incl. Cabin Filter
- New Fully Synthetic Oil
- Gearbox Oil drain and replace with Fully Synthetic Oil
- Service Turbo Wastegate
- Fit a new Turbo Actuator as mine is faulty
- Degrease and clean the engine bay

I told him to give the car a very thorough once over, if anything else comes up he must just fix it.

Hopefully have it back later today or tomorrow morning, just drove in his Smart and its worlds apart from mine considering their mileage is almost identical.

Cant wait to get it back! :joy:

Smart Fortwo | Green be gone | Quick Update

Green, seriously? The idiots that thought a green interior actually looked good and would actually age well deserves to be driven over by a Smart, twice.

Happy with how the dash came out (although it is far from perfect) I decided to tackle the faded doors.

A couple of Torx bolts and the door panel was off:

Take a look at that green!

I decided to push my luck and get a bit more technical so I picked up half a metre of fake leather for R45.00 to replace the horrible netting on the doors.

With the suede on, I did a test fit of the new door pockets:

All trimmed off and re-installed:

The camera makes the red look very bright and pinkish, this is not the case. Here are a few final pictures taken at different angles:

I am quite happy, it is not perfect but when it wears down (which I was warned it would do quite quickly) I will have it retrimmed along with the seats which for now are getting fitted black seat covers.

Moving along! :joy:

Yup, loads of it!

So the Smart went in for an almighty service yesterday, new oil incl gearbox, clutches adjusted, boost adjusted, new actuator fitted and much more.

But now there is a problem.

The car is misfiring as one (or two) of the three coils is in its chops. I am quite irritated as the mechanic also showed me all the various pipes and electric wiring that was all incorrectly installed after the rebuild.

Included in this is the leads which were all on the wrong plugs etc.

Now he is getting prices for new coils for the car...

This car is a never-ending money pit. :thumbdo:
