MINI HID Headlamps

Hi guys,

I'm looking to get a set of original used HID headlamps for my MINI.

What am I looking for, just the headlamps or is there other adapters and
gadgets that I will need to complete this upgrade? (I only want to use OEM parts)

Your help would be much appreciated.

Regards

JOJO

Its pretty straight forward.

You need to find out what H (H7,H4 etc) your headlamp bulbs is, purchase the kit and fit it. It will come with the bulbs, wiring and a ballast box which you have to mount/stick on anywhere under the hood which the hid headlight bulbs connects to

Thanks for the help dude, what you said makes absolute sense.

I'm actually wanting to use the MINI headlamps that have projectors. Mine are just headlamps, no projectors or HID.

Didnt realise you wanted to change the complete headlight unit to the Bi-Xenon headlamps. Its going to cost you a fortune, and you will also need to have the car recoded for it :thumbdo:
Best bet would be to get a 6000k HID kit. Shines white like the Bi-Xenons, provides big increase in lighting without blinding cars on the road.

Damn! Recoded? What do they need to recode, and where can this be done?

Yea that was my idea...

I just think that they look sooooo hot!

Only won't blind oncoming cars IF there are projectors installed

True that. I see many old cars that blind the :argh: out of me that have an HID conversion and no projectors. I dont want to be one of them.

I have on my high beams. Very good lighting but colour temp sucks. Light is very off white

I did the retrofit on my car and it was about R30k in parts and labour.

It's quite complicated as you also need the level sensors installed on the front and rear suspension. Also need the correct wiring harness for it. It comes standard with the headlight washing system which needs a seperate tank and water pump.

That was for a R53, the newer Minis would probably be slightly more expensive.

This seems like a huge mission with all the sensors, bottles, washers, coding and the rest of it.

Where can I get Night Breakers?
