Meet up for those spending the holidays in GP

Eish guys I'm so so jealous right now... The shell one stop near centurion is right by me, and despite me flying down now on friday to pick up jandre's 540i and leaving saturday, I'm not sure I'll make it by midnight. But if I do I might be too wasted to join the fun. Will try my best :rollsmile:

The looparound JHB / PTA sounds good as guys can join in from different areas at fixed times even.

Whether we are or not, Lets settle on a time range to meet at that shell. Say 23:15 to 23:59. Departing at Midnight.


Also, whats the procedure. Are we all gonna blast at the same time, or are we sending a scout out first.

Usually on the runs its a case of there is a convoy of cars driving on the speed limit and then if you want to go crazy you do it by yourself. The reason for this is if you reach top speed or whatever you can slow down and rejoin the convoy.

lets make it the one going to pretoria 23:30 saturday night for midnight.

that way the guys can come from ubers house.
from there out the fountains circle,then out on the r21,stop at the engen for a coke then hit the road again past the airport,up to gillos,from there we got two routes we can do,around back of jhb then m1 back to n1 to the shell,or around on the soweto highway then n1 around rodepoort/floridia side(dont know it so well)prefer the m1 around jhb .

best is convoy,but if you want to blast it would sugest the r21,just after irene up to the toll gantry just past the brick factory on your left.
the other highways dont really know.
remember if you blast it at your own risk,it is xmas and there might be cops out

so thats what i think we should do,so whats the verdict?

okay you take n1 then it splits polokwane/pretoria,take pretoria then near voortrekker monument,take off ramp,turn right,under bridgeturn left,then follow signs to airport/r21.around the fountain circle(they did it up for 2010 football)close to unisa and out on the r21

what about spreading the word to other car forums,BUT STRESSING TO THEM IT ISNT A RACE TO SEE WHICH IS THE BEST,but a nornal legal get to gether and cruise.eg vwsa,st club,audi,merc,ople kia,etc,etc
