Me and My oil leak say sorry

For everyone that's met me and whom I've visited. Especially the driveways that I've polluted with my Audi's disease, just to say sorry and it seems I've found the culprit! So just thought I'd share my joy. I know it's a bit premature and haven't test driven her since the repair isn't complete yet. But by tomorrow I'll know for sure.

Crank case vent breather pipe torn

The other end where the steel pipe connects to the rubber end is also torn/perished. So will sort that in the morning.

Colin, Adeel, Chris, Francois and whomever else, me and the Audi apologise and will try our best to behave and not mark your yards anymore.

But Still, I was raised caring for cars and having them potty trained. Unlike this naughty child I bought. Getting there though

I hope that is the main source (and only source). Can't believe that it's been making such a mess out of a breather pipe??? Checked the oil levels now too and it was pretty low. Close one.

Didnt even notice it between the Chevs and Fords that already polluted the parkings

Good thing I didn't bring the E30 then. Hopefully with the pcv pipe it will be better.

Audi Potty training continues... I Fixed the pipe and it seems it sorted a HUGE vacuum leak I had since the test drive showed me the car has new breath. I'm blown away by what an enormous difference it made.

On the downside it wasn't the oil leak, however I did source it. Will take a pic and post. On the turbo oil feed line. I believe it's the input side. Have to nip this one in the bud. Don't wanna harm the turbo.

What a Mission. So I disconnect the "return line" (thx chris) from the turbo and sump.

And low and behold, typical backyard silicone rubbish in place of a gasket. Problem found and solved! I thought...

Sanded down both ends and cut and punched nupreen gaskets. Done!

However the damn leak persisted :argh:
Can you believe it, the actual weld between the flange and pipe is torn  Luckily we know a guy that does tig welding and I'll take it to him sometime next week. For the time being the pratley steel will have to hold up. I don't feel like wasting another 3 litres of oil. Yes the return line isn't above the sump level. Just above the sump plug in fact

You dont know Frikkie... :nono:
He had a problem with his previous gearknob that broke the plastic clips, and he Pratley steel'ed the gearknob back on...

All was well untill I got him a replacement gearknob and the other one had to come off... :flyfun:

Lets just say after 3 hours, and an electric hacksaw and some chissling, we got to fit the new gearknob. :=):
