M550i or New m340i

Interesting comparison I thought of here. I am not in the market but wanted to guage opinions on something. A demo/used low mileage M550i vs the 2023 LCI m340i, as both would be in similar price range,which one would you choose and why?

M340i for me. The N63 has too many potential issues. B58 seems like the more reliable platform

I've heard these updated N63TU3s are quite alot more reliable than the trash that was in the F10 and F01. Seems it has come a long way 🤷‍♂️

I guess time will tell.. One never knows you see them out of motor plan..

If you're going for a V8 TT and all that comes with it, make it an M5... even if you go older. It is more than just the engine or the power.

In this case M340 is actually the one I would take for longer term use/modding/playing.

Thank you all for the comments.. this is actually why I asked. Didn't know that n63 had issues. Heck I didn't even know what the n63 was before today. Lol. This is why I value this forum.

M340i, the M550i is fast yes but its bulky if you want a large family cruiser go for it.

Its easier to chuck an m340i around corners etc, trust me my tyres are proof. The back also has some play making it feel a little RWD like. Get the M performance Exhaust if pops and burbles are your thing.

But lets not sugar coat, the M340i/3 Series has it fair share of issues in fact they might out weigh the issues on the M550i
