I need a drive shaft flexible coupling (Guibo) and front supension control arms for my M5.

Is it better to buy from the dealers or to import. Is the import process simply? Who is the cheapest overseas? Please help .

Some nice uprated import parts available - but you're gonna wait a while to get them... And unless you're tracking the car or driving it like a savage day-in and day-out, I would just go with OE stuff from the dealer.

I buy my parts from www.minibmwparts.com for my m5 e39 they take paypal and parts get sent to sa i pay R350 for up to 30kg to sa and then just the inv amount for customs at the postoffice for R2500 i pay like R900 for vat and customs there parts is much cheaper than buying local my repair bill at bmw was R17k for chain guids and chain and all the bits and pices i end up paying R3000 for all parts with vat and customs from them also try Ebay i had a look there is complete control arms for R500 with postage and vat and customs i think mybe R1200 for both

here is the link for control arms on ebay R601 postage R378 then ad vat and customs and 7 working day wait http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230645625345 and its Made by OEM / OES manufactures

pointless importing control arms .. just buy bushes from bmw, about 800 bucks .. the e39 540 and M5 are identical, then just have the bushes pressed into the control arms .. you only have to replace the control arms if the ball joints have play on them .. and if thats the case

buy them from imcomex in centurion, or buy from goldwagen .. same thing ..
if u order from overseas you gonna get the same thing .. Lemforder make the bushes for all the control arms except Meyle ones .. which are just as good quality .. however Meyle have HD bushes, heavy duty ..

if you want alternatively, you can order X5 bushes from BMW .. they are abit stiffer than normal bushes .. same price really

just buy the gibbo from BMW .. the M5's is abit thicker than 540 .. the 540's has gaps and places like goldwagen will sell u the 540 one

Thanks guys;

I think i will go for the Guibo from the stealers @R1500

The ball joints are stuffed. Genuine BMW control arms costs R5000 a pair minus the bushes.

Will try incomex/goldwagen 2mor and revert.

Importing seems the cheapest option.

Due to time constraits however, I eventually bought a set at goldwagen @ R1100 each, including the bushes.

Thanks Guys
