M3 vs c63 vs clk 63 cabriolet, which one would you buy?

I have watched every top gear show at least 3 times and i can assure you Jeremy likes the M cars, especially the e46 M3. Before the RS4 he hailed it as the best car in its class. When the e9x M3 came out he stated that although he c63 has the power he loves the technical precision of the M3. HE hailed the M5 as the best four door saloon ever if u keep the M button on. Jeremy does like BMW M's. He just hates the fact that every second person in britain buys a 3 series.

Hey Chris, every show at least three times tells me you're a fan. Fans are blind to what they don't want to see or hear. But for the sake of peace, it is my opinion of JC that he dislikes Beemers, so everyone can form their own opinion. But to return to the topic, you cannot compare a C63 with a M3 if it is performance you are comparing. But I saw the show, and the Merc only beat the M3 marginally, quite a disappointment if I were a Merc fan seeing there is a 2.2L advantage to the Merc over the Beemer. I wouldn't go for the Merc if I was Kisho135i.

Engine capacity and power output means nothing if a chassis cant transfer that same power onto the road.
Merc's massive 6.2lt VS Bmw's 4lt with both under 5 seconds 0-100
Merc and bring in a 9l V8 in a C class and Bmw with a 4lt V8 in a M3 and they can still be in the same class if both cars do 0-100 in about the same time and both governed to 250km/h, fair enought the Merc will have greater 100-250 times but thats the point to beat the competition.
Bmw proves over and over again big power output doesnt mean everything. The dont call it the ulimate driving machine and state german engineering for nothing.

No your right. i am a fan, of cars. I watch 5th gear and even top gear US. I watch the cars. If its one of those "challenges" where three of them just mess around i change the channel. Im not a fan of Jeremy. He irritates me. I just thought id share some light on the subject.

But I do agree that the c63 has almost the equivalent of my car extra and it just beats a M3. Just shows you what a perfectly engineerd the 4.0L V8 is. I think its time BMW used that 6.0L V12 they use in the 760Li and put it to better use. Even use some of that twin turbo technology they use in the 335 and 4.4L cars.

I love the sound of a c63. And im sure Kisho does as well. What ever choice you make bud we just wanna see some picks. But remember, this ///M will probably be the last N/A engine. You'll not only own an ///M but a piece of history.

The only reason the C63 beat the M3 in the drag race (Topgear Shoot out) was because Richard Hammond who was driving the manual M3, couldn't launch the car properly. Have a look at the video and you'll know what i mean. The M3 left the most amount of smoke (from the tyres). Simply he over cooked it on the start and still mamaged to keep up with the C63. If well launched or used a M-DCT it would have been a different story. Remember the C63 has no launch control so it's just a normal auto box. None of the car magazines in SA could get near Mercs quoted 0-100 time for the C63:thinking:.

Very true, in the mags c63 always gets above 5 second 0-100. In top car i saw the m3 manual get exactly what bmw said 4.8 0-100.
