isnt a 335i cheaper to maintain than a m3 once m/p is over?:fencelook:

Depends how many turbos you have to replace.:fencelook: And how many times you have the valves cleaned.:fencelook:

Fuel price is controlling engine design. Market slows right down for cars with big NA engines in EU.
Turbos just giving them the edge on a few mpg.

You will see this fuel saving trend in the new ML and the new x5.
Hell, it started in 2009 with efficient dynamics on all models

M drivers want grunt....

Doesn't it depend on how you drive it?:fencelook:

Remember an M3 is more economical than a Prius as proven by Top Gear:idea:

:dunno: I test drove an automatic e90 335i once and got the consumption to 30+l/100km quite easily.

I'm amazed to see how certain parts of posts get ignored.
That last comment was around the reason for m turbos.

Yes, I agree... The 335i and diesel has lots if grunt

This post is soooooo boring

M3 for me. End of debate.

335 lacks character. Overheats when driven hard. And handles like a boat.

And in case you are wondering how I draw these conclusions, I owned a 2008 E90 335 (sold it after less than 2 years yawn!!) and currently own an e92 M3.

Oo ooh , harsh... So from my last post explaining why they've gone the turbo route for the M and concluding with the M grunt statement.

You elimated the factual info and chose to reply against the grunt comment.
And besides , I did go on to say that both the diesel and the petrol versions on the 335 have grunt

M3 sorry chaps, the only option
Straight line speed is one thing - let's see the X35's perform at Zwartkops or Kyalami without overheating or going farming.

moment of silence for the death of the n/a ///M cars

And as a result, a legend is etched in the minds of every red blooded male/ female- for there will never be a NA V8 again from the M division ( for now).

The e92 ///M 3... With great power come great response

But Wikk, you'll need to wait another 2 years for that to happen...
