Out the box the X35's just offer so much possibilities with minimum effort, and at the reef, no two ways about it, FI FTW. I have owned M's and still do, but a nice little 135 or 1M will just suite me soooo fine.

The 1M is at least able to corner... :fencelook:

I raced a 135 with my e36 m3 last night and there was nothing between us we basically ran neck in neck so your story is not far fetched a 335 is slower than a 135 this will only happen if the 335 and 135 are stock modded it will be adifferent story

This thread will go up to 50 pages if some vw meneers can jump in and start with their crap... Shooting and stabbing have a high possibility of occurrence. :D

NSX was what 1990...? U wanna compare an M car from that generation.?
Abt the capacity issue.... Ferrari 458, Lexus lfa.....

Its a shame that you have to bring million rand supercars into the equation to prove that BMW m is inferior.

Anyway go Google, BMW motorsport S70/3 GTR 60º V12. Let me know what you find.

Oh gosh..... First u complain abt capacity and now cos they super cars...
M guys and there excuses...... Getting boring dude..:thumbdo:

Btw.... Never said m is inferior....love it, but will wait for the turbo version... If I was living at the coast the V8 would be considered...... Nah maybe not:=):

M guys? I don't follow. Maybe I'm missing something?

I think every BMW owner at some point will want to own BMW's flagship range, which is the M series. Classing me as a "M guy", is uncalled for. I bought an M vehicle because of what the car is, not because of the badge. So when I have a debate here, its not because I'm bias towards the M brand, its because I own the vehicle and can talk from experience, so no excuses.

I feel your 335 is doing something wrong for you, don't be hating on something superior. :roflol:

The x35 guys are too worried about KO4s these days. :fencelook:

And the M guys are too about petrol prices these days. :roflol:

Wow, What a nightmare I just had. Got up in a cold sweat.
Dreamt I could not afford to buy an M so I settled for a 335i and spent the next 20 years talking about what a great value deal I got, just to get over it.

:biglol:

I remember a few years back, I drove a modded Subaru STI. Gave some folk on this forum a thrashing on the 1/4 mile including Carrera 4s like mentioned above. Was running high 12's at the time. Point is , they were still driving M3's and Porsches and loving it. Each man to himself I guess.

Why is this turning into a personal thing? :roflol:

M is better.
X35i is great value and easily modded due to it being turbo'd.
This is a thread stating the obvious.
The M will always be the more complete car, BECAUSE THAT'S HOW IT IS MADE!
If that wasn't the case then why the hell manufacture an M. So what if the N/A M is slower at the reef than a modded x35i, POSSIBLY. So what if the M can corner faster than an x35i? It's supposed to.
The new FI M will dispell all this absolute BS debate once and for all, even though there shouldn't have been a debate in the 1st place. This is like the debate between the M5 and the GTR, x35i and the respective M are just about as different albeit sharing the same body shape.
E90/92/93 M is better than any x35i, it has to be modded to beat it in a straight line, I mean really now. At the end of the day, you still not in an M.
But, the x35i will always be an AWESOME "compromise", unless you looking for something with snails attached to the motor so you can make it go faster.

Very nice, very mature comments coming from you.

Do what ever you like, dude. Makes no difference in my life.

I didn't want to say this, but at-least this joke/bada$$ can drive a normal e90 which is exactly the same as a 335 bar the engine, and when I want something special, I can happily jump into my +300kw monster and have some fun. So I'll carry on doing what I want and suggest you do the same.

So it will be nice to stop with the name calling, and just stop this debate here.

Thanks for the debate it was fun while it lasted but has to be stopped somewhere down the line and I think the lines been reached.

That's just put it this way, if you have a x35 and change it to a M, it will consider an upgrade. While if you have a M and change it to a x35... Don't think that will happen to any M owner:rollsmile:

A driver of a 135 almost put his car into the bushes, trying to chase me up Peacevale.

I'm sure everyone whom has travelled up there on the N3, will know what i'm talking about.

i dont think that has anything to do with the car but a lot to do with the driver.

Very true, but equal drivers will see the 135 a long, long, lonnnnnggggg way back.

Well I only drive my M3 on weekends, sometimes only twice a month. But i tell you it gets driven like how a M3 was built to be driven.

Straight line is fun, but you get bored very quickly.

How often do you visit a race track? MSports pack is also fun on public roads....

Here's a quick one:

Merc's most powerful N/A is the SLS with 67.7 kw/litre

BMW e46 M3 - 78.75 kw/litre
BMW e9x M3 - 77.25 kw/litre
BMW e60 M5 - 74.6 kw/litre

Let the figures do the talking

Add Honda Figures there and the M doesnt seem impressive then...

This is the beauty about the M3, it doesn't have to be driven on a track to be enjoyed. Sure not many drivers will be able be able to extract the full potential of a M3 on the road, let alone a race track but still enjoy it. I've taken mine to the limit and a little beyond on and off the track.

My 330i has the M-Sport suspension, and yes its excellent on the road but doesn't hold a candle to the M3. They are simply on different planets. Its that much of a difference.

The rear gets unsettled rather quickly in comparison and body roll is very noticeable.

BTW making decent power from a small engine isn't as difficult as extracting it from a large capacity engine. What great large capacity high revving motor has Honda ever produced? Revving a V8 to 8600rpm is something, in a four cylinder its easy, plain and simple.

Their great NSX out put out 201kw from a 3.0l, and 216kw from a 3.2l . If the Japs are that how do their 1000cc superbikes compare to the BMW S1000RR?

The latest CBR-1000 makes 133Kw on the crank, the Beem makes that on the wheel.....
Even Kawasaki tried to match the Beem but failed.
Honda CBR1000rr - 133Kw
Kawasaki ZX-10 - 101.5Kw
Yamaha YZF-R1 - 133.9Kw
Suzuki GSX-R1000 - 135.5Kw
BMW S1000rr - 144Kw

I drive an old NA ///M because of 1 thing - It offers me what I like to see in a car.

Do I care that the BMW Jocks (x35i drivers) make a million HP? Not in the least.
Do I care that I overspent on something that I like even though it is deemed worthless by others? No way.

So all I hear in this whole thread is :blab::blab::blab::blab::blab::blab:, because I am happy with my choice and with what I have to live with in the end.

what started out as friendly banter has turned a bit :yuck:

Hey.
Typical human. I drive a 2003 E46 330i Individual. I love the car. seeing everything people say about M3 or 135's. Dont care. I'm a true BMW lover. Looking into the origins and achievements BMW has had over the past allmost 100years.. . . Go BMW!!!! all the way. !!!! All Beems are equal in the BMW follower's eyes. Every single one is built for a BMW fan's taste. Even people driving an E30 316 loves his car if he loves BMW!!!!
