It is a great car... You have to own one in your lifetime. 3.2 litre straight six producing over 100hp per litre... with 8000rpm... pure bliss.

The steering is RAW, you feel every little thing that the car is doing. It is like an extension of ones body, a symbiosis between driver and car. It is ultimately an enthusiasts car. You have to appreciate the art of driving to really enjoy the e46 M3. It's like a ballerina dressed in an axe murderers costume. The e46 M3 is not about fast straight line speed. It is a combination of acceleration, speed, cornering ability, agility, sound, hooliganism and an attack on the senses. It's a whole package masterfully stitched together that delivers the penultimate driving experience and grants the driver the sense of utmost control, and when you are on that edge, a feeling of beatitude sets in.

A great car...

So true... The e46 m3 is a car with a soul, it touches you every time you take it to the limit. It's really the full package and you'll never know till you experience it. Still the most powerful 3.2 in line aspirated, six cylinder motor to ever have graced a car. With a Suspension to handle the power and racecar-like sound enough to tingle the senses and put a permanent grin of satisfaction on your face :praise::praise:

Absolutely true. I used to take the long way home on the B roads every chance I got. Just to enjoy the sublime chassis balance.

I loved my SMG, had no issues at all with it and was definitely not clunky. Also had great satisfaction flipping the paddles with the windows down and flooring her out of the tight 2nd hand corners. Every car fanatic has to try an E46 M3 at least once in their life.
