Seller claims it's a "special edition" Where do people get these ideas?

Never heard of that thank you, as far as I can see it's "just like" my first 540i that I added that full kit to..... I'm almost sure it's the same car

Remember the special edition is the one that came out with vanosh, a step-no-tronic gearbox and the engine was given a tune-up by ros green

BMW tradenames Steptronic 'boxes if my memmory serves me correctly.

maybe it was replaced with the gearbox of a Skoda, VW, Audi or Pajero?

I seriously think it's my old car, if not then it's identical.

the M5 kit and all related plastic parts and trim for a proper conversion cost me R45K in 2002 because it was done propely.

They were Steptronic, correct.
"Tiptronic" is something people say if they don't know the original trade name.

Just like DSC = ESP... Steptronic = Tiptronic.

Only thing thats out of the ordinary are the M5 Wheels.

It's got M-Sport bumpers, not M5 bumpers, so no. Plus, if it was an M5, he would have kept the gearbox...
