Licensing how long does it take

Sorry bud.

Crappy experience.

My ex director had a similar issue with an "exotic" car dealership (since closed down). He bought a Ferrari for around R4m. Paid R3m in cash and balance financed. 3 months later still no transfer and registration with constant excuses. Kept renewing the temp permit. Upon investigation none of the exotic cars sitting on their showroom belonged to them and they had still not paid for the Ferrari after receiving the money. The Ferrari was not even roadworthy on eNatis!

Dealers have NATIS dispensation where they can get pay-out on a deal and have 30 days to transfer the vehicle onto the clients name as owner and bank as title holder. Nothing fraudulent there.

They should have been upfront and truthful with OP about the reason for the delay though. Seems the owner of the dealer needs anger management sessions.

I had no idea that they would give them as long as 30 days. Hopefully it doesn't take 30+ days to drive what is now a R2M paperweight 🤦‍♂️

Even if it is 'allowed' there seems to be no attempt by anyone to tell the truth on the dealer side, settle the car or have it transferred. Let's see how it pans out. Maybe they will also end up closing down at this rate? :ROFLMAO:

I'm not sure if banks do this anymore but there could also be an early settlement penalty on the car that they could be trying to juggle... Depending on how much the car was sold for and how much the bank is owed.

Found out this morning from my guy at licensing the vehicle has been transferred.

Honestly don't know their reasoning. Just glad I can relax and eventually use my car when I get the plates this week.

Been a stressful experience, when they could have just been professional and communicated what was happening from the beginning. In future just buying direct from manufacturer.
