Thanks Vince, the size is a bit daunting, especially when the sensors and cameras go beserk when trying to park lol

Life has thrown a few curve balls, my old faithful Camry was feeling a bit neglected at 395k km and decided to blow a head gasket. I don't like to half arse anything, so just dropped a chunk of cash on OEM parts there so mods this car will be put off for now.

I have been struggling to find time to detail the car, so decided to do it in parts. During one wash decided to clean the door jams, polish and coat it for easier washing. I didn't take any photos other than the below. I know many might not like the idea, but I also choose to fit th xpel door guard kit. It was an easy enough process and I don't have to worry too much about any paint chips on the edge of the doors.

At some point in time, I managed to secure a weekend to start with the outside of the car. I managed to work with the paint and the glass.

Started off with with the wash, some iron decon followed by a clay bar.

The car was 'detailed prior to delivery by the dealer and that left it with some great swirls.

For the last few weeks I have had to use the car for work which was not my plan since there is daily. Definitely enjoying the the early morning drives to the gautrain station but it pains me to leave it parked at the station.

Hoping the daily get sorted soon so she can go back to enjoyment car lol

So skip forward what felt like a few weeks, but was more like months. I didn't think the interior was that bad, but still wanted it to get it better.
I normally start with the least aggressive option and work my way up. I had also purchased a scrub pad which did not feel aggressive but seemed to loosen the dirt easily. I did also use my steamer, but since it's not one made for cars, I felt it was creating more water droplets than steam.

Clearly there has been a fair amount of trim silicon or similar applied over time. Driver door had dirt in the usual spot like where you rest your arm20240727_103350.jpg

I do prefer the clean Matt finish 20240727_104310.jpg

The water after cleaning the driver door pad And surrounding plastics was worse than initially thought.20240727_111550.jpg
