Howsit Guys

A few of us were chatting at the recent meet & greet at Wilson's Wharf and we, as KZN BMWFanatics would like to support the efforts of a local charity. A charity has already been chosen....Heres their profile:
PROFILE OF SINOSIZO SIYAPHAMBILI

Sinosizo Siyaphambili is an independent registered non-profit NGO which works to strengthen psycho social support to orphans and vulnerable children (OVC), people living with HIV and AIDS (PLWHA) and their families in four target communities.

The organisation was set up in 2011, when the founders of Sinosizo Siyaphambili were retrenched from Sinosizo Home Based Care Project when the strategic direction of Sinosizo HBC Project was changed - to become a training organisation.

Vision
Sinosizo Siyaphambili’s vision is to be an effective support to orphan and vulnerable children, people living with HIV and AIDS (PLWHA) and their families in attaining their basic human rights and needs.

Mission
Sinosizo Siyaphambili’s mission is to strengthen community based responses to orphan and vulnerable children, PLWHA and their families in order to ensure quality care, support. and acceptance within their communities.

OVERALL OBJECTIVE
Ensure that appropriate care and support is provided to orphans and vulnerable children, people living with HIV and AIDS and their families in the target communities, through organised community based interventions.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES

1. Enhancing the psycho social well-being of orphan and vulnerable children and vulnerable families.
2. Assuring appropriate care and support is provided to people living with HIV and AIDS and their families.
3. Building up the leadership skills of youth in the project
4. Providing opportunities for skills development for beneficiaries..
5. Strengthening the capacity and drive of the community based teams to provide quality support to the orphans and vulnerable children, PLWHA and their families.

Presently we are working with the communities of Bhekokuhle, Siyanda , Groutville and Etete in Kwa Zulu Natal and have close to 1300 vulnerable children and youth in our programme. We work with community based teams (comprising of childminders, community caregivers and youth facilitators) in these target communities to support orphan and vulnerable children and their families to achieve a better life, through a variety of services, namely:
• After School Care,
• Kids Clubs,
• Youth groups
• Support groups,
• Early Childhood Development programmes
• Children’s camps
• home based care to the sick,
• provision on food hampers and/or nutritional supplements

The core team at Sinosizo Siyaphambili comprises of:
• Mrs Sandy Naidoo –Operations manager ([email protected])
• Mrs Busi Magwaza- Programmes manager ([email protected])
• Mrs Roshni Pillay-Administration manager ([email protected])

In each community Sinosizo Siyaphambili works with a community based team which is headed by a co-ordinator who supervises a team of childminders, community caregivers, and youth facilitators.

Ok so we would like to provide them with food hampers, and distribute them on the 22 June 2013 in Groutville(plus minus 30 kms North of Balito) at 11am.
Each hamper comes in at a cost of R295, and we would like to collect 100 of them.

Here's the banking details:

Bank: FNB Queensburgh
Account Name: Sinosizo Siyaphambili 2
Account No: 62317770594
Branch Code: 250837

All the money has to be collected by us before the 7 June 2013 so that they can process our order and get the hampers ready for us on the morning of 22 June, where we will distribute them at a community centre.

Please guys these families do need our help, it’s the least we could do for our fellow man.

So I think we would meet at 9am at PetroPort North bound. Talk our usual BS amongst each other and head North at about 10am.
After the formalities we could head off to Salt Rock for lunch.

Thanks Yulz.

Another way to look at this if affordability is a problem is that there's 9 weeks to the 7 June. If you save R33 a week from now then by the 7th you'd have R295.

I also suggest that anyone who does EFT's and cash deposits email the NPO or PM Heven so that we can reconcile donations received and track our progress toward the target of 100 hampers.
