have a look at the video guiys it shows how its done here

I see in the write ups that it seems to be a kind of anti-hijack system

According to BMW techs, the EWS and key are synced for 5 seconds after the keys removal. Apparently it has something to do with Radio Readyness on the E90's.....

Mine also does that.

2008-05 Model , 320i Exclusive

Wanna know , if its a fault , can i take car to BMW to fix and why they was no recall

Scouse - thanks for posting

I would say, cost/benefit ratio. I've had my 120d 5 years and didn't know this till now. And considered myself to be quite clued up on my car.

are u guys sure its not a feature of the car???
like comfort access which is an option ?

I think if it were a feature, they would mention it in the owners manual...

Mine does it to! Awesome! :)

Sort of like isofix points that are a cost option , yet appear in most BMW's ?
So if it's not a fault , it must be a feature ?
What else could it be ?
Next thing u guys are gonna tell me u didn't know about that BMW gave an extra 0.2 liters free in the 320i:)

My 130i does it as well.. i think its a feature... you have so many seconds after removing the key to start it again..
Check out this video.. E46 remote start feature.. not sure if any one has it here...
