Intermittant Starting Issues

Hi Guys

I have had a intermittant starting issue for the past few weeks now. When I start the car the motor swings but it does not start first time, If I swing the engine again it starts fine, occasionally it will try & start but will cut out immediately. By the second or third attempt it normaly starts right up. This seems to only happen when it is hot outside, early morning starts are no problem. Once started, idle is perfect as well as driving (no missing etc.)

Car is a E36 325i, Anybody know what could cause this?

Thanks guys, is it expensive to replace? Would it show up if I have the codes read? If the sensor is failing shouldn't the engine light be illuminated?

Appreciate the advice

Codes will indicate it yes. Speaking under correction, but the sensors are around R300 - R500 from dealerships.

Thanks BMW M, called Goch & Cooper & booked it in for diagnostics. Explained the symptoms & the guy said it could possibly be the fuel pump as well.
