I have a cone filter on my e30 and it sounds great but i noticed ive lost performance. When the motor is stil cold or driving in the early mornings the car is not that bad but as soon as the cars engine heat warms the filter or the pipe the car feels like I have the hand break on. So tomorrow im yanking that shit out and im going to put the original airbox with filter back
Epic revival. If you're not using a heat shield it's pointless. I made one from perspex and covered it in rubber. Works like a bomb and i'm very happy with the way she sounds and goes. And I only really hear it from 5k up.

The fact that it doesn't perform when your engine is hot tells me you don't have one

Great example of a very well done hot air intake. For this kind of budget I doubt you would be able to find a better way of loosing some of those pesky horsepowers.

Better results can be obtained using a longer pipe and a couple of bends and putting the filter right over the exhaust manifold, but you'll need a bigger budget for this....

well the sound is great and that makes me happy. The m50b25 is low on power and I havent felt much of a difference any way, its not always about performance.

If you looking for mad gains throw in a bottle or some boost

That's what mine looks like. Not the clearest pic. It seals up nicely against the bonnet and routed it around the radiator similar to the way the original snorkel.

In that pic the snorkel is still there. I have since removed it. But works. My intake pipe stays cold
