Hi Guys

I want to purchase a 135i from a fellow fanatic.
I've driven many of these N54s , even own an M3 .
I told him I am taking the car subject to a small test drive.

He doesnt want me to test drive the car due to insurance reasons. :flyfun:

Simple question: Would you guys buy a car without test driving it?
I am spending quite a bit of money and don't feel comfortable since the car is also off motorplan. :argh:

I recently had a fellow member over for a visit and he asked to be taken for a drive in my car.

I took him for a small drive and once the car was nice and warm gave it over to him.
I took the decision based on the way that he looks after his car and his general conduct on the forum.

I did not restrict him from driving it as he pleased and he drove as he would have driven his own car, which was good enough for me, as his car is a pristine example.

Clearly the seller does not discern between a joy rider and a serious enquiry.
Leave it alone in that case

When I bought my car from freerider I was surprised he let me test drive it considering I just registered on the forum and he didn't know me from a bar of soap, he didn't even come along for the drive, if the guy won't let you test drive then walk away. Spend your hard earned wak elsewhere.
