Yes it’s recently been changed especially the part of the R500 value for customs clearance.

Importing requirement of a importers code has been around for a while now.
Not that you will get into trouble but SARS can impose a fine on the parcel which you would pay(R3k roughly).

Also once you have picked up a problem with them, they will make life difficult and everything Will get stopped/checked/delayed

E60 Diff non M5 cover from medium diff

In my opinion the medium diff is the best of both worlds lots of compatibility with ratios from cars in that generation and lots of hearing options. Only issue with this cover is that I will need longer bolts and there is no drum plug but I can live with that

Looking at getting bearings to complete the rebuild of my diff

Ended up costing me R2082 landed in RSA

Thanks

Custom oil filter housing so it doesn’t sit on steering rack. I am now gonna run a remote oil filter with a bigger filter. It’s the original bast plate just added some pipes and AN fittings

Yip. Before I bought it I wanted to see what the reviews said. And this guy was installing it.

I see he finally did a review

I have mixed feelings towards it now. Time will tell I suppose

The cold has been a killer.

God a few more goodies done

*Fabricated and mounted the oil coolers
*Welded in the radiator mounts
*Cooling fans mounted to the radiator

I know it doesn’t sound like a lot but getting the material and test fitting takes up time and only had 1 day this weekend

Radiator mounts used a normal nut and welded it to the chassis at 8pm using only a cell phone light helmet and mig welded. Looks kak but does the job perfectly

This is more mad than my build. :bravo:

How has the car been treating you. Did you manage to keep all the stock creature comforts like cruise control, climate control, ABS etc. and if so, how. Ive been told I will need to use some part of my stock ECU to do so?

Thanks buddy,

Unfortunately when you cut the ECU out nothing ends up working due to the canbus system. I plan on reqiring the car, race car style to never worry about canbus or pesky bmw electronics again.

There has been quite a few updates but they were lost with the forum issues I will eventually add them back but I dont wanna add them back just for them to go missing again lol.

Currently I am saving up for a n47 clutch and getting a custom flywheel made

So hopefully that comes soon so I can get this car on the road again

I have a buyer lined up for the motor tomorrow. Then I will be buying the new motor end of the month. The the wiring and ecu is going with the motor.

Updates coming

I also found the rear silencer that’s going on the car

Great build. Loving it

haha thanks man,

been looking at a few options as the 1 jz is actually cheaper than the 3uz

1jz non vvti version

Pros
Slightly cheaper
Internals handle more boost
Comes with turbo
tuned to be more powerful than the v8
Better motor for boost
Iron block
no vvti nonsense

cons
heavy
parts more to obtain than UZ
motor sits further forward
extra cost for turbo piping and related items

3uz
pros
sits further back
makes more torque @ lower rpm
lighter
if I go FI the results will be better
more advanced motor
already have a 3.73 diff so should be fun

cons
block can only handle 600hp
if I go turbo I will need to upgrade internals - no choice
block is weaker

I am leaning towards 3uz as eventually I wanna try out some ITB's on it and it should be very interesting especially if I go with a 8-1 exhaust setup
