How to best launch a M5??

Did some trails with launching the M5, seems I'm going to need a lot of practice. With the M Sport and DSC on, no problem, but I would reason that with the DSC off one should get a better result. DSC off and pedal down results in uncontrollable wheel spin. I would really appreciate some tips from the experienced drivers.

If its a E60 then the best launch is using launch control- basically your
Settings need to be at most extreme, EDC on level 2 , DTC disengaged , gearbox in the 7th settings and power on P500+!!
After that Put the car in D and shift the gear lever forward towards the dashboard and press accelerator flat, it will rev to +-4200rpm and when you let go of the gear lever just make sure there's no AMG's in the way!!

I tried the launch control, seems mine don't have it or I'm doing something wrong. It's the E60. All the steps done, if I slam the accelerator she starts immediately spinning out control, ass breaking free.

You can also program M button with these settings. It is much easier then - you only press the M button push the gear in D and press accelerator flat.

Nope. Launch control was only introduced to the M5's with models E60 and up.
It's for girls anyway :biglol:

Yes you can do that, but it will only launch if it's set up correctly in Idrive

That car is sooo damn expensixe after market to maintain, I wouldn't want to start it unnecessarily, leave alone launch control :grin:

No, the instructor at BMW advanced told me they used to launch theirs daily with no problem, personally between the 2 I had I launched it at least 30 40 times, once u use L/C you can't use again until you've covered +-25kms or about an hour!!
That becomes really annoying if you are at a drag meet!!

I can just say one thing, what I experienced was awesome, I cannot wait to get my hands on the F10 as it will be epic.

Spoke to some techi's at BMW and to Zaid at Zeemax, they say it's BS. But I won't be doing this often, I just had to figure it out. There again, fit some slicks and then you could be heading for trouble. Re: Motorplan, I will finance any repairs myself. I might just score some tax deductibles. Seeing my company is renting the car from me :rollsmile:
