How do I fix this??

So went for a few runs at ODI this weekend, car was pulling ok 237 on the 1 km and 13.1 QM, (well maybe not as strong as I was hoping for though).

Next thing however I get a yellow engine check light :thumbdo:
Anyways turned out I popped my charge pipe coupler off the throttle body, many thanks to M3 Devil loaning me some tools  I was able to get everything reattached and could drive home.

So this morning I check the car for codes and keep getting a pressure sensor fault, now I know I attached everything back correctly yesterday, so do a physical inspection and find this?

Don’t understand how this wire broke loose as it’s attached on top of the intake manifold far away from the charge pipe?? Anyways I call BMW parts this morning, reckon 2 weeks to order a plug from Germany. Don’t understand as this plug is common across many BMW’s (part no. 11)?? Anyways now I need to make an interim plan for 2 weeks. The problem is that the wire has actually broken the pin its soldered too? Any suggestions on a quick fix??

Also need to know where to get some decent boost piping and T-clamps as I also stripped one of the large clamps on the CP??

Damn sorry to hear bud.

Does the plug have any clips on the side where you can open and re solder?
can you push the cable back in? if so you seal it with some glue once in place.

How the hell did that break?? Surely it cant just snap off while driving, you need something to pull it out and extreme force.

Very weird.

And I call BS on BMW having to wait 2 weeks from Parts. I got told that many times during my rebuild on Jezebel. Where are you situated and what BMW did you go to?

I would call BMW JHB city... they have one of the biggest parts departments and will be a better choice.

Is there a pin on the other side if you unplug it? If so you can get a pin pusher and push pin out the back and resolder.

As for the pipe on the throttle do you still have the oem connector with the clip that gets pushed down to secure? If so that leak heaven for a high boost car.
Check out the Stett charge pipe and how the silicon hose connects to the throttle. You may be able to make something similar.

You Sir are doing Boost right....! If your charge pipes are coming off...then you got to control that boost a lil! :roflol:

Only thing I can suggest on fixing her up, would be to unplug the clip and try pry the problematic pin out of the casing. I note that the 3 remaining plugs have sort of been glued/epoxy'd in. The chances of fixing this fella are good, provided you get that pin out...When assembling, they have to press that plug in, then glue up - so now that the glue is not showing such a strong presence, give it a bash and push carefully on the other contact end as to "reverse it outta there"...solder the wire back and re-insert. If that doesnt work as easy as its been said, await the new part and repeat procedure.

Hope you can sort it soon.

I agree fully, no Idea why this wire would break off, we were very carefully when we removed the cowl and were working on the charge pipe?? Only thing I can think off is that when I left the bonnet open to cool and wasn't looking I perhaps had a vistor who decided to tamper with the wire? Guess I'll never know though
