I traded my 2010 320d Sport Pack Auto in at 138000km's on a 2013 X3 Demo. Had extended the MP to 120000km's but in hindsight don't think it was worth the R1.27 / km that I paid - (R 25 400ex VAT).
The left front shock started leaking at 138000km's and while the car was at SMG Pmb waiting for the replacement shocks (i ordered aftermarket because BMW wanted R20k for the 2 x front shocks and I got 4 x Bilsteins for R7500) they loaned me the X3....clever marketing :clapper::clapper::biglol:
Aside from the shocks, the 320d ran flawlessly for the 3 yrs / 138000k's and was awesome to drive.
The X3 has been a pleasure as well but very different car. I was always "Wideopn" in the 320d but have become far more leisurely in the X3.
An interesting observation is that given the approaching expiry by mileage of the MP i obtained a full print of the servicing costs for the X3 from 0km's to the last service.
Long story short, it has cost MP R0.28c/km for this vehicle. Imagine my horror when they quoted me R 1.68/km to extend by 20000km's:RedNo:
Incidentally, the R0.28c/km includes such things as R1000 for wheel alignment at the stealership:RedNo:.
So, I am going to bank my Tax rebate (last year was a handsome amount by virtue of my detailed logbook) and use that for servicing.
