Tell us a bit more about the Supra - how and where you got it. I gather can only be used as a track car since it cannot be registered here etc. So stupid that Toyota locally never put these type of cars on the market, just the boring appliances instead!
Ok so when I finished school...I started to work and earned some cash. My father bought me my first desired car aka Hyundai Tiburon for R130k. I started doing a few minor performance mods as I was totally new to this kind of thing.
Becuase I work with Peertjies (us petrol heads), we are always surfing and finishing our internet bandwidth on youtube videos of performance cars like : Supra,BMW's,Mustangs etc. etc.
After seeing the looks of a Supra + performance, I totally fell in love with this machine. My whole heart desired this car.
I really wasn't in a financial position to get another car, but that did not stop me of searching.
I searched about a whole year (almost everyday of my life) for the famous words: "Toyota Supra for sale"
I contacted everyone I could find. Then I also realised that this was a import and almost impossible to get it registered.
I phoned some friends (that owned car dealerships) to find out what the story was about the registration and if it can be done.
(Everyone I came accross with a Supra, wasn't registered locally)
Plain and Simple, they all told me: No, sorry. (Especially a Toyota Supra.)
Like they say in Afrikaans: "My moed het in my skoene gesak"
I was really upset and sad, and I couldn't understand why this damn country is so stuck up with the foreign car imports....
"So I gave up on the search"
Started looking at M3's etc. and figured it was waaaay to expensive.
Then one day, (i think last year) I bought the Speed & Sound.
WHAT DID I SEE?!?! A BLACK SUPRA making about 500-600KW on the wheels and owned by a SA citizen AND REGISTERED!!!
If I remember correctly...it took him 5 years with enough paper work to fill Africa...
I said to myself: "If he can do it, I CAN!!"
So my searched continued!!!
I went through 21 pages of google. (junkmail,ananzi,gumtree,autotrader,cars.co.za etc etc)
Till I found this baby in Bloemfontein!!! And "registered"
So I figured this was just another sale scam.
BUT he wanted 200k+
(Where normally they go 120k+)
So I figured there must be something to this...
I phoned the seller...he spoke perfectly Afrikaans. And this sounded like a true and legit person.
So my father ,secretly organized with this person, that we are driving to Bloemfontein to have a look at the car.
When my father told me...I literally burst in tears!!!!
I WAS SOO HAPPY (AND STILL IS!!!)
We came there, I saw the car, (with local registration number plates) and I sommer burst into tears again!!
After we had a good look and the car etc. my father walked to the sellers computer, and did a E.F.T for the full ammount of the car.

:joy:

:joy:
So guess what...I started to cry again lol.
I drove her back from Bloem to JHB! (with tears of Joy in my eyes all the way, and a Smile that nothing in the world could remove!)
That my friends, is one Fucking-kickass Father I have.
I am forever grateful.
(sorry for the swearing, but there is no other way to put it, and sorry for the long story...)
