Its going to be diffucult to help you. a diesel powered car and petrol powered use different wirings and ecu's.

Seems to me like he just wants the cheaper of either to fit into the E46 shell he is buying. Let's wait and hear though.

2006 BMW E46 320i Individual M Tech 2 Body with 5 Speed gearbox for sale. No engine, no computer box, no engine management harness, no catalytic converters, no radiator

So please help fill in the "missing pieces"

Do you have a budget for this? Or a goal in terms of what you want to achieve with this build? Because once you have those parts you’re going to find another 100 modules/trim pieces, patch harnesses, issues with existing parts etc etc. and then the labour to fit, code and hunt down gremlins. It’s never just the parts you think on a stripped car.

Unless you are getting the car for free, it will end up costing more than just buying a running one.
