I need your guys help on removing the roof lining, I have searched quite a bit and haven't had any joy.
I know how to remove the covers on the A and B pillars, as well as the cover over the security mount , I also see screws behind the visors but I don't see any clips or screws on the rear, has anyone else done this before?

My roof lining sagged on a patch above the drivers side after I had the car detailed due to steam cleaning , I simply stapled it and forgot about it but would now like to get it sorted.

I did this a few months ago. Not too complicated. Remove glove box, remove centre light, remove A and B pillars, remove sun visors. Take your finger along the sides to pull it from underneath the rubber seals.

Should come out. Think the seats where also moved as low as the can go

Awesome! Thanks Chris, would you mind if I call you if I get stuck?
by the glove box do you mean the sunglasses cubby in the roof?
are there no clips at the back?

I would also love to know this, because I have to remove mine as well.

On RealOEM, it appears as if there is some sort of clip right in the middle of the roof, so I really dont know what else holds it up there

Of course you can. The sunglass cubby simply pulls out. Think its from top to bottom but youll be able to figure it out once you pull with your fingers.

The roof lining has a curl at the back so it slots into the rear window lip, the sides are kept up by the rubbers on the side, and the front by the sun visors. As far as I remember there was no clip in the middle of the roof. Will double check

Perfect thanks Chris

I also found this on another forum to help others in the future

"On my CF roof install, I found that dealing with the headliner was a little tricky.
I found out several ways that it did NOT want to come out of the car

So.... after eliminating the ways that it didn't work, I found a way that was relatively easy.

I hope the following series of pics help you a bit

1. remove the A and B pillar covers.
it helps to have proper trim removal tools, but they basically just pull off by gently wiggling from the edges & pulling
HIGHLY recommend to only do this in a warm environment.
If its cold, the plastic may not do well.

2. Remove the interior lights fixture & disconnect cable.

3. remove sun vizors .....and the front will drop down.

4. slide H.Liner towards front of car to free the back end.

5. the back right corner has to work out around the B pillar.

6. angle down and out the passenger side."

Ok so I managed to strip my roof lining this weekend.
wasn't too bad.

removing the pillar covers on A pillar was easy , the B pillars are more tricky and clips can easily be broken, luckily I have them intact from the replacement.
unscrew the visors and the remove security panel. not necessary to disconnect as you can push the module through the opening.
Lights are not necessary as after removing the visors the top of the front opens up and gives you space to unplug the cable.
the trick for the back is to slide the entire roof lining forward. theres is just one clip slide in the rear centre.

unfortunately I could not install my new fresh anthracite lining as with the M seats the head rest is part of it and clearance above it is quite tight, I risked damaging it so I will strip the seats this weekend and do it properly.

hope this helps members in the future.
