That looked terrible having a new plastic piece stand out like that so I ended up detailing the entire undercarriage over the December holidays . Happy with it now everything looks Fresh again

Now After much thought it looks like this thread may be close to it’s end , as we look towards emigrating since that’s the new trend today.

I always wanted to keep the car forever and enjoy it from time to time at the track, breakfast runs and even date night with the wife , we enjoyed all the amazing Experiences it offered during the last 8 years. By far my longest ownership of any vehicle and also the most well maintained documented car I have owned. There were times were u just rock up to the track day and u make top 3 or 5 in RWD class against some full on track cars, Lots of good times.. The Most Memorable moment was when we fitted the Semi Slicks at Red Star Raceway for the first time and the car turned into a weapon, mad amounts of grip and precision, there was no other feeling that compares to going flat out into a corner or sweeping bend with warm semi's, 7000rpm, razor sharp steering, aggressive braking force, its a spectacular feeling when they all come together.

But in saying all that it doesn’t make sense to ship it to another country where I wont have my well tooled Garage to do everything at home and I have very little trust in letting anyone else work on the car so finding a new owner for it will be the best way forward. I've been planning to detail it (paint correction) when i'm back from Dubai next month and then I will most likely do an official sale advert.

If anyone is interested in this particular Z4M , Drop me a DM and we can chat, I will be willing to discuss Price and Negotiations with serious buyers who actually come out to see the car. Any test is welcome bring your own mechanic too, I'll even put it on the lift for you and give you the flash lights to do whatever checks, no other seller will offer this.

Ideally though I'd love to sell the car as is to an Enthusiast who will enjoy it as is with all the Upgrades, Extra sets of original z4m wheels and semi slicks, all Original parts that was removed like the stock airbox, Gear Shifter, Stock suspension, the flash tuner with the Alpha N as well as Stage 2 Tune and many others things which I paid a lot of money for but forget right now. It has had all the preventative maintenance done as well as upgraded Engine and transmission mounts, strut tower reinforcement plates ect so its ready to take on the street or track as is with ZERO maintenance required. Mileage is at 130K. Bearings, vanos, valve clearances done 24K kms ago at 106K Kms. Apart from the Carbon Airbox, Alpha N Tune, Track brake pads, Gear Shifter and BC Coilovers, the rest of the car is Stock standard and it still even has the Catalytic Converter in place. The car is not tuned to max engine performance, its tuned to do laps and offer a thrilling experience which is also somewhat competitive.

And so the end, begins...

Visibility fully restored . Tested the auto dimming feature and it works perfectly. Was a fairly simple Diy .

Hey @johndoe, congrats on your sale. After reading about all the meticulous work done on your old Z4M, I found it hilarious that the driver's cupholder was still not working, because that was one of the most obvious but unimportant issues on mine as well.

Apart from the engine and oil pump however. I was driving back from Hartbeespoort in May and all of a sudden, a plume of smoke shot out the back and the engine lost all power. The oil pump broke and one piston basically melted, and shot up into the head.

Given your vast experience, do you have any advice on who I could trust to source and do an engine replacement?

I've put the car up for sale as a non-runner, but still dream of driving "the Python" again lol.

Open to any suggestions thanks guys.

I rebuilt my S54 in my garage last year. You can do it yourself if you have the time and patience.

My car is running beautifully since my rebuild, the strongest it’s ever run in the 11 years of owning the car, so maybe something to look at if you want to really fix her.
