If bearings had to go, I'm sure you're happy that it was these and not the 1s in the s54 ;)
yes for sure but lucky for us both cars already had their rod Bearings replaced by Peter and the S54's are healthy :)

As you can see, They are two different Diffs.

Had some spare time so i decided to grab my Hammer and Chisel and go into my garage to play Mechanic again..

The job this time was a Leaking Diff which needed healing. The diff was leaking from the Pinion Seal and has been doing so ever since i took ownership of the car... I finally got tired and pulled the diff out the car for a small time rebuild... All New Seals and Bearings....

Dirty Thing

All in all, The car is back on the road and no more leaks... everything is smooth like butter...

While the exhaust was out for the Diff work, I decided to clean them up a bit before fitting them back...

you can see the below before and after pics to gauge just how filthy it was... I'm happy with the way its looking now...

I'm new around here but the last thing I expected on a BMW forum was lots of advanced diy, blown away!

After seeing this it occurred to me that many BMW drivers are true racer's, not only drive the best cars but can also wrench with the best.

Nice!
