Whether BMW decide to build a Supercar or not, they still build brilliant cars with alot of power. Some of us cant afford it right now but they are still brilliant. You might have seen this M6 that was done by Zeemax. Yes there was work done on it but this car is seriously fast. This was posted on this forum before but it is well worth the look again. :dropjaw:

I don't think it is the burning of petrol that is so inefficient, it the burning of anything that is inefficient. This is not inherent of combustion process it is the fact that it needs to be cooled down, almost half of the power of an engine is wasted by the fact that is heats up. This is so for any system that get hot, the hotter it gets the more inefficient it is.
I have my doubts whether it will make up for the losses, otherwise electric superchargers would have been the next big thing.

I would rather like to see a revision of the principles of the internal combustion engine as it is if they are planning to use it further into the future to make it more efficient, ceramic and organo-ceramic compound engines are just one thing that springs to mind.

And it shows you that there is demand for a BMW in this segment, if someone is willing to do that to their non-BMW ...

i dont know anything about 'ceramic and organo-ceramic' sounds awesome ill look into it.

i do feel a boost system will always make it more efficient the problem is to most efficient form of boost has lag if that can be eliminated there is no reason not to run boost on all engines... also capturing braking Energy and reusing it will also bring big gains in efficientcy
