Hey gents

And so my M3 journey continues, this is my 3rd E46 M3 and 7th M3 overall.:hammerhead: I guess it also shows the hold these vehicles have over me as I've tried quite a few different vehicles in amongst them but keep coming back. My plan to keep the red E36 didn't quite work out and I ended up selling it halfway through last year, some say I have a problem holding on to vehicles lol but I guess life happens and sometimes we make bad decisions like everytime I sell one of my cars.:YesNo:
After not having a weekend cruiser/bruiser for about 5 months, and really trying to hold back from buying one, the itch came and I decided it must be scratched. I was looking around, even looked at buying back back my silver E46 but was beaten to it, then another vehicle which I had been considering and looking at, Andy's ex '05 SMG, came around and I decided to go ahead and bring it back up to JHB after it's short stint in Cape Town.

The car is a mystic blue 2005 E46 M3 SMG with now 108500km on. Andy had done quite a bit of maintenance around the 104k km mark which I'll list below:
- Oil change
- Air filter
- Windshield rain cover
- Vanos done with new seals and solenoid pack
- Shimms and clearances done
- Exhaust hanger
- Centre bearing
- Guibo/Prop coupler
- Differential oil and FM booster
- SMG CHF
- Power steering fluid
- CSL SMG software loaded
At 106k km whilst in CT the car received:
- New rear disks and pads

When I received the car I knew there were a couple of maintenance items I wanted to attend to, this included having the bearings done as preventative maintenance and when I dropped it off at my mechanic, I asked him just to check a couple of things out, and basically sort out anything that would be need to be done in the next 10k km while it was there. The below is what I've had done/replaced:
- Bearings and conrod bolts
- Oil service with Liqui Moly Racetech 10W60
- Sump gasket
- Powerbrake front disks and pads
- Control arm bushes
- Power steering pipe
- Tierod and rack ends
- Aircon belt
- Brake fluid flush

I've also ordered a set of OEM Sachs shocks from Moranor which are on their way and will be fitted in the next 2-3 weeks with new mounts.

The car had 19" CSL reps on which I took off, and sourced a set of OEM 18's from Andy which I had fitted with new Toyo Proxes T1 Sports and put on the car, just prefer the ride of the 18's. The car also has an upgraded android head-unit which is pretty cool, also have the original one as well.

The car has a Remus backbox and a decat which together sounds absolutely epic I must say! I know I always say it, but these cars make every drive an occasion which I absolutely love!:praise: Lets see how long I can hold on to this one!

Both this one and my previous SMG had the CSL software loaded on before I purchased them so can't make a direct comparison, but I absolutely love the way the box operates, as I've said before, one has to learn and get used to the SMG properly, once you've done this you will love it!
