My web connectivity is really in a slump so I'm hardly online.
Hope you all are keeping well.
Anyway - had my car washed in the week at my regular spot down south and found out that they have new ownership and the owner and I got to chatting and he told me about their charity run they're having for a place called Jack&Jill's Play Centre.
The lady that ran the place has passed away and all her assets are frozen so they're organizing this event in order to collect much needed food supplies for the kids.
The event is open to any and everybody and all that is asked is that you bring a little food item along as I'll list below. Unfortunately I couldn't scan their flyer so just typing out the vital info here.
GPMC and CTSRcrew are putting this event together.
The CTSRcrew leave from the McDonalds at N1 City at 12:30pm (12 for 12:30) and will be meeting up with the GPMC guys and gals at Ottery Family Value Centre (opp China Town).
Everyone will then be escorted along the M5 to Muizenburg and the run will end at 291 Strandfontein Road, Ottery (behind the Caltex garage) where the handover will take place.
There will be braai drums for those who would like to braai and the Currie Cup Final will be on the big screen.
Tomorrow (Friday) they are having (at the same venue) a special R30 wash and go at the car wash for all entrants in the run.
Foodstuffs needed for the play centre:
Sugar, rice, milk, bread, butter, fish oil, split peas, spaghetti, mielie meal, jungle oats, baked beans, lentils, tomato paste, pumpkin, cabbage, tea bags, jam, peanut butter, salt, pepper, canned food(s), hot chocolate, potatoes, carrots, onions, peas, oranges, bananas, apples, grapes, etc.
I won't be able to attend as I'm stuck at the office on Saturday, but I'll be dropping off my contribution tomorrow anyway.
