So the weekend was quite busy on The X, the second snail took a bit longer to get aligned and bolted on, space was very constraint. On a very positive note, the smoking issue is gone. FASTEC did a very good job on my snails. Main reason for the failure of the RHS turbo was the intake pipe rubber. They were hard and not sealing so dirt went through the turbo's. The blades on the rotors , could see they were "sandblasted" These rubbers is quite expensive and i would not have known this if i did not work on the car myself. Something to keep an eye on on other BMW models.

So this weekend we took a 2000km roadtrip. After the snails were sorted, dropped off the car at BMW for an oil service, it was time. Before the trip , the OBC showed 25lt/100 km. Surprisingly it came down to 15 lt/100 km. The trip with the X was way better than expected, it did not feel like driving an SUV. We had a lot of rain on our way down there, wind was terrible at stages. Car handled like a dream. Car was loaded , i did not feel the extra weight. Soon we will make a trip down there again.
