We need someone to man up and take control of this and make a decition there is not a lot of time left , . Fanatics do not quit the stand together.
Dont get it....online is says its a registered NPO with numbers, but in person they say in the process of getting accreditation. Im waiting for a decision to be made by the fanatics family.
I got no problem with us finding another organisiton to give gifts to, however I dont mind AT least giving the basic wishes of the first organsion of nadias...ie...the jeans, bags and clothing needs. In that case i'll sponsor NO 9 at least. Ive bought the x box already, but will keep it until we know whats happening.

Have we confirmed that we will be helping this organisation ? If we have then we need to do this guys and girls.. I'm with Dippies on this one, we do not give up.
If not then either this one or find another one.. like I said I have the stationery and nr 10s items but I need to get these items to the organiser. :thumbs:

we have had communication to and fro .. hence the childrens wishlist and the general house needs as well.
I have also made communication with the the local newspaper w.r.t. asking them if they would be interested in covering this in the print media, but they are yet to reply to me.
I also visited the "house" on my regular doggy walk on sunday, and the kids recognized me immediately, realizing that there "MIGHT" be an XMAS surprise in store for them soon.
as far as making it "official"....what constitutes "official confrimation"
I suppose as with any home for destitute/charity organization, dissapointments are "the-order-of-the-day"
On about page 2 or 3 of this thread when it was SUGGESTED that we organize a charity event, I put forward this PLACE, as it is the only one I know of in my area, ........at that stage there were no other suggestions,...... and somehow this place became the EVENT, .......until the NGO status came up today....so what now ?

I am however concerned that we do not have all the member's support anymore and no offence taken to that at all - I understand the situation as I too do not give to people on the street for my own personal reasons, but in this instance we have set an expectation and we need to come to the party.
Perhaps I am the only one that feels this way? It's very late in the game so we need to make a call.
We need to rather get a vote going and then majority rules. What do you all think of that?

Even before the NGO thing came up I was concerned about the number of people keen to attend the event....very little was also said about the planned picnic/braai.
Since we already have some of the gifts committed, I think we should go ahead but maybe without the whole "event" just a drop off of the presents we have? :dunno:

A real shame when such a noble idea is crushed by a technicality.
This might upset some of you, but I for one am done with burning my personal time swimming against the current trying to make a difference, and this is just another lesson learned. Let the ridicule begin.
O’ im sorry, but Fanatics don't quite has no relevance / Significance to me, why, because I do contribute in my personal capacity outside of this forum.
Maybe it is time to standardize these projects.
1. Identify a charity by means of vote.
2. Agree on a financial contribution (R***).
3. Collect donation in a regional Fanatics account, and transfer the earning after deadline.
This is maybe a little impersonal, but it is still a way to give.
This might upset some of you, but I for one am done with burning my personal time swimming against the current trying to make a difference, and this is just another lesson learned. Let the ridicule begin.

Just spoke to Nadia, she says they have sent in the registration forms 4 times already but the paper work goes "missing".
I am going to do something in my personal capacity as I feel this is something I need to do, any support will be greatly appreciated but I do not except it.
The wishlist will be scrapped as I too can't afford a gaming console for myself or name brand goods to wear(my priority/hobby/joy is my e46). I will buy each child something they need that I can afford.
I apologize again for the way this has turned out, however the support for this event as feeble at best.

Well let’s simplify;

High expectations; no to worry, donate some funds and presents will be purchased, in this way every kid gets a little something for Christmas, not only a “but they promised”..
Fact is, Ralf and Dewald already promised that we will help these kids, and offered their personal time and resources to get this far…
