Funny e90 LCI tail light problem

I see you dont get any warning lights to say the bulb has gone for the brake lights.
BMW says it uses its own source. Which is stupid.

But anyway, i noticed that the brake bulb stopped working. I replaced the bulb but now the brake light stays switched on, on the one side.
And if you brake it uses the inner bulb to show brakes.

Anyone else had this issue?

See so many E90 LCIs where the light strips aren't working on one of the units. Usually the light console on the bootlid. A lot with failed brake lights as well. There's definitely a problem with the design of those units.

On a rental car I had the light strip on the bootlid was working intermittently and eventually noticed it either stopped working or started working again if I'd opened the boot, so closing the boot obviously giggled the wires a bit.

Some good old fashioned whacking it till it works can still be used on modern cars too it turns out:rollsmile:
