Shane, I am with you with 335i curiosity... :fencelook:

Cons would have to be the HPFP problems - if a more permanent and reliable fix came out I would be very, very tempted!!

Personally, I'd say your M3 is raw and reliable fun - the 335i is immensely quick, but at what price?

i did the move,i miss my E46 M3 because of the high revving motor and the way you can plant a M car through the corners.

the 335i power deliverance is more rapid though and i love the torque and punch and the way it immediately puts you in the seat and this is expected from a turboed motor.in these areas this car does not disappoint:thumbs:

Problem for me is i am a normally aspirated fan and i love to rev to 8500rpm or even higher:inlove: and i love the sound of a na motor a full tilt.

if you do the move u will miss certain things about your M3 but u will also enjoy the greatness this car has to offer especially in the torque department!

i would say make the move and u wont be disappointed

I say you need both in your life. Really, they are different cars if you sell the M you would miss it all over again. Then when you drive a 135/335i you think what refinement & smoothness. Let's put it this way although my 135i is quicker than my Z over the 1/4 the Z still gives me goose bumps and that tingling feeling down the spine. With the slightest movement of the steering wheel and brake you know you are in an M, only when you part with it you then realise why it is different. The handling on the 135i is crap even a Mini will outrun it. But again two completely different cars duifficult to compare them especially if you are going from M to i. Ideal for me would be 1M with DCT box but then again the 1M engine starts with a N and all M engines ever produced start with a "S", so I will wait out for the real thing the next M3.

I got the same decision to make, once i sell my car will be looking between e46 m3 and 335i coupe out of warranty. its a tough one.

After reading many internet discussions it seems the main arguement is -m3 is an m car and 335i is not? is it that simple?

It sounds that simple but the feeling and reward is complex. Stay M, the M will complete you with the X35i you will have to complete it.

335i ftw , easily tuneable , i am loving my new 335i !!!
the m3 was great , but u need to rev the shit out of it to get going.
the 335i does it all and puts a smile on my face every time!!!
the 1320 changes to the lci models make it a different beast to my 2008 335i!
LCI ftw!
