True...BMW SA says
With the BMW Laptimer app, driving data from the racecourse can be precisely recorded and an analysis can be carried out for improving driving-performance.
Some of these motorplan conditions are vague e.g. "misuse and abuse"
The launch control in my 335i has failed twice now. The car shows racing FLAG, soon as you lift off brakes, it just shakes in one position. So far BMW Motorplan spend R20 000 replaced camshaft twice. Could they claim I misused and abused the car? I'm sure they would have if they wanted to.
Then another issue is the noisy brakes. A mechanic wrote on the job card "tell client to apply brake slowly for first 300kms". When I returned car for noisy brakes, they showed me the job card comment. My response to them was "best way to apply brake in an emergency is to brake slowly? risk of killing myself". They laughed and BMW Motorplan ended up replacing all discs, brake pads again for another R25 000 claim.
So, I often wonder that constitutes "misuse, abuse"
