I have an idea - nothing discharges the Battery as much as a big sound system paying for a long time - or leaving the headlights on for a bit.....then see if it happens again ?Mr Max said:MikeR said::fencelook: Im confused - if that battery was flat and died when you where driving - then it will die again as it will run flat again, as the alternator cannot be charging correctly - otherwise it would have charged while you where driving it
So am I. I did some more reading on the matter this morning as it is still bothering me. In terms of the manual, if the battery runs low, the auto start/stop will not function in order to keep the battery charged or charging. The car switched off via auto start/stop and would not start again. the message on the dash was: "Transmission Drive Moderately".
The techie who was sent to the brake down, disconnected the battery in order to perform a hard reboot. When that did not work, he atthed his battery booster to the car and it still would not start.
The job card indicated: Charging battery; Performing vehicle test; and Carry out diagnosis when I collected the car from the workshop.
When I spoke with the workshop person on Monday when the car was booked in, he asked me what error message the car displayed and I told him. When he did his thing while we were talking, he indicated that the system brought up two issues while he was capturing the info.
1. Low battery
2. Transmission drive moderatley.

Take it for a long drive as MikeR suggest...

:yuck: as I thought this is not a battery thing - this is some issues with the software or bad boxes.Iceman007 said:

Sorry to hear about your troubles with the new car! I hope the dealership can sort this out, although I would demand a new vehicle!!
Just make sure that your car's front bumper is not scratched at the bottom from the load unload on the truck....
