A big thank you to everyone for all the good wishes. We got home safely and had a most enjoyable journey. Just over 1600 kilometers on the clock now.

You are right Twinz, she is both a baby and a beast.

I will share more images and my experience with you all tomorrow.

Thank you :)

Reached 2000km yesterday! I look at it this way, the car is a 2012 model and with four months already done my average kilometres so far is 500 per month.

I don't think I will average much more than 10,000 to 12,000 kilometres a years ongoing.

Thank you all once again for the good wishes. The trip back from JHB was good. The roads where very quiet as we only left on Saturday. There must have been about 12 speed traps along the way, with only one that caught us. Fortunately, I didn't have a front number plate on the car as I am still driving on a permit.

The car is absolutely awesome! I am going to start driving her a little harder now as she has just over 2000 kilometres on the clock. The gearbox is silky smooth and gear changes are hardly noticeable. I know you purists out there will disagree, but this auto box is amazing and I don't see myself ever going back to a manual.

I have driven her in sport mode on the paddles three times (half throttle to 4000rpm in 1st, 2nd and 3rd). Wow! The engine comes alive with each gear change being accompanied by a rewarding growl from the exhaust.

I am off to JHB again today and a will be back tomorrow. On Sunday, weather permitting, I will be take photos of the various parts of the car as requested by some guys.

Hint, hint... Wouldn't it be nice to go on a little fun run sometime soon.

Thank you Doomsdaya. I have driven my sisters 335i manual and it really impressed me. So much so, that I decided to buy myself one :rollsmile::rollsmile:

The immediate differences I notice between the two are that mine feels/is bigger and the technology is way more advanced. Also, the auto box allows for far better fuel economy (6.4 vs 10.1 from what we are getting at present).

They both offer a superb driving experience!

When I collected my car the other day we took the opportunity to take some side by side shots.

This Sunday is too short notice for everyone. Sun 13th is Mother’s day. We must either do Sun 20th or 27th for a run.

Otherwise we can do another “dinner evening” at Time Café on a Thurs. We’ve done it twice, the guys enjoyed it

+1 for a dinner evening at Time Café. Would be great to have a chat and meet more BMW Fanastics :=):

All the weekends are probably out for me this month, besides maybe the 27th. We are getting away as much as possible before our little boy arrives next month.

Wow , congrats man , just one question ?? No sunroof ? Why ?

Thanks. Don't like a sunroof or rag tops much. Both spoil the aesthetic of the roof for me.

As much as I dislike the shape of the F30 it really does make the E90 look ancient in comparison.

I still love my E90, but the F30 has this, "just looks so right" thing going for itself - really was impressed with it at the launch and pretty much from the first time I saw the final pre-launch sneak pics of her!

Yep, “dinner evening” at Time Café is really enjoyable!! Actually prefer it to Starlight Diner, for other reasons also, but it's a nice drive there and back!

Here are some pics of inside the car as promised. It is a bit challenging to work within the confined space so apologies if they are not the best quality.

Yes, it is. Just the last two images are from the display on the dashboard. It is a bit difficult to take images of the HUD, so I wasn't able to get clear pics of the other stuff shown.
